Superb for grown ups too. I first read this series of three books when I bought them for my child, back in the middle school years. That child is in grad school now, but I go back and read all or pieces of the original 3 every six months or so. Superb fantasy stories, written beautifully for younger people to enjoy, but adults to really, deeply, understand. The third book, The King of Attolia, is one of my favorite books of all time, up there with The Fellowship of the Ring and Gatsby.

Ingenious. So you've read the Thief. Now you're ready for deeper fare: The Queen of Attolia. This is one of my all-time favourite books. Brilliantly written. Perfect characterisation. Awesome plot. Theological insights. Life long inspiration. A real story. Go read it. You won't be disappointed.
Great book!. Sequel to The Thief and prequel to The King of Attolia and A Conspiracy of Kings, The Queen of Attolia is a book no one should miss. Turner is one of the rare authors that can weave an intricate story full of second meanings and subtleties, and she fully expounds on this. There is a wonderful capture of emotions in The Queen of Attolia, and many of the scenes are better than movies. I recommend this book to every person who reads this!
As excellent as the first time I read it. A very good follow up to ‘The Thief’ and as enjoyable as that one as well. I’ve actually lost track of how many times I’ve read the series. And, I’m sure I will read it again.
