Still relevant. It's amazing how the message, struggles, and voice of this novel is still relevant to the plight of African American women today. As a single black female, I could see myself, my sister, or one of my friends in every character. Terry McMillan leaves you with hope that at the end of the day you to will EXHALE.

Good read. Good book just know that the book is about 4 women trying to find love in a world with men who won’t commit, cheat, and ask for divorces. No they aren’t desperate they are going through exactly what some modern women are going through today . Everybody wants to exhale hence the title. Give the book a chance and put yourself in each of these characters shoes that’s the best way to understand.

Best book ever, amazing characters. watched the movie and my friend recommended reading the book too. so glad i did, the characters are iconic and this book is still relatable in 2021😭 coming from a 21 year old in college figuring out life 💖
