Good read; Poetic. Robin Mckinley’s writing style never disappoints. This novel isn’t action packed; it’s verbose, deep, and reflective, and completely envelopes you. I couldn’t stop reading.

Chalice. Robin McKinley has written several tales that speak to the parts of us that find comfort in tradition and delight when traditional ways are courageously bent and broken to bring about transformation and renewal. Chalice is one of those tales that grabs the reader with simple prose that paints vivid images of a timeless time when a woman, new to her role as Chalice, finds her strength and learns to trust herself. The story unfolds slowly and deliberately, arriving at a surprising conclusion. This is one of those books that can be taken out from time to time and be read again and again with deep pleasure.
