Pleasure to read. Could not put it down. Great read

Couldn't put it down. A page turner from start to end. Are the bad guys good or the good guys bad? Mystery, adventure, romance, intrigue, and action all cunningly weaves together in an epic story. I can't wait for the next installment of this trilogy.

Redemption run Amuck. This novel starts beautifully and darkly and then turns into a story of teen angst as well as one of Redemption run amuck But I found myself amused by Hoffman's very eclectic style and his hodge-podge world, and I admit to looking forward to learning where this goes in the next novel in the series. Be warned that the dullest character is the love interest. Enough already about her alabaster skin and long neck, that goes along with the teen love story counter theme. But some of the villains are terrific.

Great Book. I almost didn't buy this book because I thought it was a kids/young adult book. I am glad I did. Far from being a child's book this book really delves into some adult/religious themes. I couldn't stop reading it.

A dark medieval fantasy. My son recommended this book to me over the phone, and I purchased it while we were talking. The Left Hand of God takes place in a complex fantasy world that is woven from threads of inspiration from history and literature, spanning the ancient Persian Empire. It was fun to trace out the oblique geographic references as I was reading using Wikipedia and Google Earth. The prose is spare and fast moving. The characters are drawn concisely and efficiently. But the plot unfolds like a very dark arabesque tale. This was very diverting.

Fantastic read. So, the first few chapters were dark and stark, so much so, that I almost quit reading. Then the whole story seemed to open up with possibilities. Very interesting book, I highly recommend it.
