A Stone For Danny Fisher. This was the first novel I ever read. I was in my teens. It was terrific then - it's terrific now. And now I'm in my seventies.

Danny Fisher. This is one of the greatest books I’ve ever read. It’s so raw - and so powerful. I couldn’t help feel that Danny was doomed from the beginning - wanting to do the right thing, but always having it backfire. Robbins captures what I’ve always thought must have been the feeling in the zeitgeist during and after the Great Depression, not unlike what the World is now seemingly coming out of… I didn’t want this book to end.
