A piece of history from which we can learn a lot. I read this book about six years ago, it was one of my first reads in regards to this period of history. I remember not being able to put it down, the details of every memory captivated my mind and it allowed me to experience, through the lecture and with vivid detail, what the writer was going through during this time of her life. A great tool for our youth, great insight to what the true meaning of freedom is. A must read.

A very interesting book. I've found this to be a very detailed book and interesting book. The author gives the reader a very plain image of what life was during that time period. I feel as if I'm right next to them, and witnessing this tragic event during the war. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about this dark era.

Amazing!!!!!!!!. I had to read this book for my 8th grade literature. I though when I first heard of it I would dislike it very much. Once you get past the explanation of her life before the holocaust you will be put into the situations young Ellie was put in. I would give this book +100k stars.

Heart breaking. I’m still in shock about the torture and torment that happened to these poor innocent people. I always knew the torment was horrible but not until I read this book did I know the caliber of the treatment the precious Jewish people had to endure. I’m glad my eyes were opened.
