Obsessed with music, he listened with religious intensity to Casey Kasem's Top 40 every Sunday morning, compulsively bought 45s of his favorite songs, and nerdily copied the lyrics into a notebook. Music became an ordering principle to his life, even as the chaos at home got out of hand. Dell’Abate’s memoir sketches the trajectory from the obsessive pop-music trivia buff to the man in the beekeeper’s mask who handily defeats his opponents playing “Stump the Booey.” We learn about the memorable moments in his life that taught him to endure epic bouts of humiliation and get his unique perspective on some of his favorite Stern show episodes—such as the day he nearly killed the Mets mascot while throwing out the first pitch, or the time his mother called Howard’s mother and demanded an apology.

Weak. Great guy but weak book. Nothing revealing or anything we didn't already hear a billion times over especially now with sterns "best of" replays. I was hoping for some behind the scenes stuff maybe insight on guests, etc. Naturally stern established ground rules in writing the book. Very safe

No more lists. Really good book but dates got all out of whack it would’ve been awesome if you just did it chronologically it threw me off a little had to switch gears and not to pile on but no need for the lists of anything every chapter man don’t need the lists of everything

Flee Fla Flunky. The details behind the magic that created a set of enormous teeth, smelly gums and rotten toenails. All kidding aside, Gary's life is one to admire, from his strong family ties to his dedication to The Stern Show. A great read that will make you want to consider carrying your dog's doodie wherever you go. I give it a noyne and a half.

A must read for any Stern fan. Gary rocks! The book fills in many blanks from over the years. He's a great guy who's overcome a lot. The book is a great mix of Booey background and show related stuff. It does run long in some parts.... this is a book from Gary after all, wonder how much material didn't make the book... but a truly enjoyable read. Would have liked more pictures though and D-Bag Stern (whom I love!) should have written a forward! Baba Booey to you all.
