Keep going. As both a mother and grandmother my heart goes out to Kate, Gerry and the whole family. I will admit this book has made me much more aware of everything they must be going through and I pray Madeleine will be found. I will be telling my friends and family to buy this book it is heart rendering .

Madelaine. The people who are writing hatful things should keep their comments to themselves, the parents of Madeleine will have to live with this nightmare for the rest of their lives, i am sure they cannot feel any worse than they already do ! Praying the Mc Cann family can find peace and Madelaine will be found after being well looked after by whoever has her. Everybody going abroad anywhere keep yours eyes out Madelaine!

Mccann's. This book is really good. If u was undecided before then thus read will definatley make your mind up. Don't know how these parents carry on. They are an inspiration.

Excellent informative read. Disappearance of Madeleine was a shock to us as parents. My daughter was only 2 years old so this event felt particularly close to heart. All the media frenzy that followed so it is an informative read to understand the whole picture and shocking to find out how the parents were treated as well as shortcomings in the investigation. We hope that Madeleine will be found soon!

Gruelling but so worth it. The writing feels incredibly honest and balanced. A horrendous story of loss compounded by the indifference, incompetence and malice of authorities we all like to believe we can trust in. But there is hope in the mix, too: both for Madeleine and for humanity. I’m left feeling drained but full of admiration for the McCann family.

Strange.. How come every single comment that bring the mcanns into question has vanished? It’s my opinion based on what I’ve seen on the subject that all the official accounts of what happened is utter rubbish. I’ll not believe any of it until the mcanns have been PROVED innocent in a british court of law.

Madeleine. I have a much better understanding of what the McAnns have been through since reading Kate's book. I always believed their innocence and could not fathom why people could be so hurtful towards them. Kate's accounts and diary entries are very candid and insightful. I really hope that Madeleine can be found soon to bring them, their family and friends closure and happiness. God bless you all x

Spine chilling. From I opened the first page I couldn't put this book down... I gave me utter sadness and at points tears were streaming down my face. That poor family and their poor helpless child... Abducted. As Kate talked through when she discovered Madeline was gone, I felt I was in the room with her. There is a lot of things we don't know about their story and this book is great to know exactly what they went thorough as a couple as parents and worst of all as accused parents!!

I believe in you Kate..... You are truely amazing people to keep going as you have done for 5 years now. I believe your beautiful Madeleine is out there and god will answer your prayers and return her safely to your lovely family x keep strong x

Madeleine. As a parent this is not a book I would have chosen to read but after seeing an interview with Kate McCann in the daily telegraph I felt compelled to read it. Everyone knows the story of Madeleine McCann's disappearance and the events that unfolded in the media afterwards but I like many people was totally oblivious to the incredible injustice that was dealt out to Madeleine and her family by the subsequent investigation. My heart goes out to Kate,Gerry and their family, they have handled the situation with such bravery and dignity I'm sure I would have completely crumbled under the enormous pressure they have been forced to endure. Kate has managed to write this book in a way that doesn't have you weeping with every page turned as I expected, its not a woe is me read, it bravely and eloquently accounts the events that unfolded in this heartbreaking story, you feel their pain and their anger their continued suffering but also their drive, their love and the progress they are continuing to make in their search for Madeleine. Please read and keep Madeleine in your thoughts and prayers. Kate you are a very brave woman x

Food for Thought. There is no one I am sure who would disagree with me how sad and tragic it is that this beautiful little girl is missing and what the family have been through. However, I question why social services and the powers that be have never questioned the safety of the remaining children - not because of doubts whether they had anything to do with the disappearance of Madeline but because I do not understand how anyone can think it acceptable to leave three small defenceless children alone in a hotel room and only check on them every 30 minutes purely so they are able to have a nice child free evening with friends. To make matters worse, they were in a strange country and there was a child sitting service on offer that they did not take up. I remember a case a couple of years ago where a working class, struggling single mother left her child home alone and went out clubbing. The house consequently burned down and the child died and she was prosecuted for neglect and all manner of other convictions thrown at her. Is it the fact that the McCann's are deemed of higher social stature due to being doctors and so no officials in this country dared to question them on their parenting skills? When their other children grow up and find out that they were left alone and it by chance that they were not taken as well, I wonder how they will feel towards their parents.

Heart Breaking... no other words. The pain and suffering felt by this family is unreal. I simply couldn’t put the book down. I pray there is another chapter added to this book very soon.

Madieleine. All power to you and your family in your continuing battle to find your daughter. I wish and hope that you do find her one day no matter what it takes, stay strong and true to your quest. A wellwisher.

Eyes opened. After refusing to believe the unbelievable for many years I have finally read the FACTS of this sad case. The lies and discrepancies are so numerous it is not possible to list them here. This book is another exercise in spin. I think so many people state “I have not read the book” then please how can you comment?? If you are interested in having an informed opinion then try if you can to park your emotions and read the Portuguese police files and be aware that what you are told by the media may be designed to influence your opinion.

Stomach turning slander.. Regardless what happened to that poor little girl - one thing is for sure: she has still not been found and no-one, countless impartial professionals included, are sure exactly what on earth happened to the poor little soul. I am astounded, amazed and sickened that individuals would choose to use this medium to act as judge, jury and executioner in a case where they absolutely cannot have any accurate insight - regardless of who was responsible for what happened on that fateful night. In fact, if it was me that had written such a truly pernicious and hateful 'review' with the opening gambit 'I have not read the book', then I would probably be trying to retract them or check with my solicitor that I could not be found guilty of slander for the utterly subjective and deliberately inflammatory opinion that I had penned. Furthermore, I am upset and shocked that iTunes has allowed this service to be abused in such a way. This is absolutely not freedom of speech. For those of you reading this thinking 'I won. Look at the reaction I have caused.' I pity you. For doubtless the first time in your life, you will have truly missed the point. Good luck.

Good read. Very harrowing and alittle hard to keep up with the many different names but def worth reading. Breaks your heart hope she is found soon x

Madeleine. On reading this fellow mothers experience, I went through every emotion with Kate. I have the most deepest respect for the McGanns and I pray that Madeleine is found.

‘Madeleine: Our daughter’s disappearance and the continuing search for her’. Disclaimer - I have not read this book. However reading reviews and knowledge of several conspiracy theories revolving around this case, I don’t not doubt that this it beautifully written, Kate is Madeleine’s mother and I’m sure, she loved her dearly. But honestly? At what point does a mother think to write 496 pages of completely heart-wrenching literacy... it must of taken years to accumulate. Taking into a mere 4 years after her abduction. Not forgetting, this was very much in the midst of the strenuous perusal to find Maddie. The Guardian Thu 12 May 2011 ‘Madeline McCann case to receive help from Met’ The search was on.

After.... After reading this book there is no doubt or question in my mind that the mcanns didn't kill their daughter. From mother to mother, how could a woman who writes and expresses such love and care for all of her children have possible killed or covered up her daughters death? No I am not the police, but I myself have always wondered if it possible for them to have murdered her. After reading this my heart tells me A firm NO. I sincerely hope that one day this poor couple and their children, who's lives have been torn apart by this abductor, the media and the Portuguese police, can be reunited with their beautiful daughter. Prayers for the beautiful Madeleine McCann.

the stupidity and baseness of the world.. I thought I knew a lot about misfortune. I am a grown man but I always think of my mom, she died when she was 36. And my uncle, whom I have never met but through an haunting portrait, was only 16. But the McCann’s story is another new level. First they had to endure the abduction of their wonderful child; then, the barbaric stupidity of the entire world. That is a whole new level of human suffering. It’s hard to believe how much pain and sorrow these poor parents have been gone through after the misfortune that involved their beloved daughter. In a stupid, base, inept, mindless and insane ‘society’ like ours, where every supposed ally turns into an enemy, every idiot becomes an expert about anything, and every vulgarities conjures up some stupid conspiracy theory about anything and everything, in a society of degenerates where ‘freedom of speech’ trumps basic decency and morals, in such a stupid society, as I was saying, it is very difficult to fare any better than these poor souls, the McCanns. My heart goes out to them. I have contemplated their story often through the years, and learned much from it, namely, the above. I remember a BBC article where someone selling ice cream in Praia De Luz, apparently cordial and friendly, was asked about what she thought about the Madeleine McCann case after all these years. Then, her true, nasty, and selfish colours showed up: “Aaaah! I don’t want to hear anything anymore about it!”. When this tragic event occurred, I turned to my friend, and said to him: “Anjelo, have you heard? That little girl is missing!”. He turned to me and said: “Eh, what’s so special about her? So many go missing!”. I will never forget these words. Years later, I saw him on skype, he was thin, pale, had not slept for 3 days, and had huge debts. He was practically ruined. I felt no sorrow for him. I did not tell him at the time (I would now), but I now think: “Hey, no worries. There’s so many like you. You aren’t special. FU”. I hope the truth will be known soon. Of course, I hope Madeleine is well and that she will return, but frankly I am a pessimist, I have no faith in most people and this stupid world. But I will keep hoping for the parent’s sake, because I know they want other to hope Madeleine to be found alive and well, so I hope this too. I cried when I looked at the picture of this ordinary, nice family, and the beautiful big eyes of Madeleine. The point. Could everyone just talk about the actual book I'm reading throughout the comments trying to find at least one along the lines of 'this was an amazing book,so inspirational' all due respect to the people who are sharing their thoughts about the family in nice ways. I too hope Madeleine is found one day+I just put it as 5stars even though not read yet!

Hope. Read this book, heart wrenching. Does make you cry, and definitely puts into perspective how they feel. Worth reading.

Soul baring and beautifully written. I have NEVER believed that Gerry & Kate had anything to do with it. And feel that it's 'very much for the grace of god go I'. There is no such thing as a perfect parent. We were on a beach in Mallorca with our 3 girls when I heard about madaleine. Our youngest is now 14. And even now at bed time and she wants an extra snug. Or page of her story I remember madaleine and thank god that I have my baby safe and even when I'm busy/tired/in a bad mood I will give her an extra 5 mins and a kiss. I lie on the beach in mallorca in the summer and see the pictures in the Daily Mail of madaleine as she gets older. I still keep a look out for her. And look at little girls eyes for the 'flash'. Heartrenching!. An amazing and inspiring read - I've learnt so much more than I did when it was in the newspapers. They are a truly inspiring family who have touched not just my heart but many others. I cannot believe how strong they are and I will be praying for the day Madeleine is home with them. Beautiful Madeleine. This book pulls at your heart strings. There for the grace of god go I. We holiday In Portugal at least three times a year & speak to friends who are Portuguese, who have been corrupted by the Portuguese press. I hope that by giving them this book they will learn the truth & the truth will be passed on to their friends. A must read for all parents. Keep strong Kate & Gerry, we are all looking for her!

Such an emotional read.. I don't think I have shed so many tears reading a book before as I have this one. You get the emotions of sheer panic, terror and devastation just reading Kate's words and then u realise this is just a flicker of what they went through and go through on a daily basis. But as a mother of a 3 year old daughter myself i can totally relate to the immense love you have for your children. Therefore, I can not even begin to imagine what this brave couple have had to endure. After reading this book I even more strongly believe that there are people out there who know who took Madeleine or where she is. The authorities need to do more, this is someone's child. I hope and pray she is found soon. It’s a good book. All these stupid comments from people who know nothing about anything with big opinions that seem convinced they know like some sort of Claire voyant. Get a life and stop trolling this poor family and victim blaming.

Madeline. I love true and fictional crime and have always been interested in maddie McCanns story, I have my own theories, and whilst still remaining sceptical about what is written in this book it gives you a real inside view of the events and timescales of what happened that awful day.

An inspiration. I really enjoyed reading this book even though it had me in tears through most of it with the harrowing story. I think Kate and Gerry are excellent parents and are an inspiration to all!!! I wish them every success in finding madeleine. My prayer's are with them. Xx

Keep searching!!. This book broke my heart. When maddie was taken I didn't have children and thought it an awful situation for any parent but now I have a son nearly 3 and can't even come close to imagining how the Parents feel. Previous comments on here sicken and anger me, Kate and Gerry aren't as someone said LINING THEIR OWN POCKETS with the sale of this book. The proceeds are going towards funding the search of maddie!! So have a heart shut up critisising and buy it!! If it was your child missing U would do anything to help her/him find their way home. People claiming that the parents are involved in maddies disappearance need to read this book! It will change ur mind, plus if that was the case why write abook about it for all to read and gain publisity. They would want it done and finished with if this was the case!! I really hope one day soon we all hear the good news that maddies is back home where she belong!!

Help raise funds to find Maddie. When i first heard that Kate and jerry had published a book about Madeline's disappearance before reading the book I thought how could they use madeline to make money I thought it was sick. I couldn't get my head around how they left there kids unsupervised in the first place. selfish and thoughtless! Now after reading the book it's full of strong emotions Kate and jerry live there life with massive guilt and regret which they will have to live with for the rest of there life's . My heart goes out to them. Having 2 kids myself 12yrs and 11yrs old iv always!! been over protective with them but more so when Maddie went missing my kids resent me for it but will i know they will understand when they are older. My views have changed towards Kate and jerry after reading the book if they read this review I wish you the very best of luck in finding Maddie I hope she is happy and well looked after wherever she is xx

Madeleine. There could be no other title to this review, other than Madeleine, or maybe, 'sorry'. I'm sticking with Madeleine as I know that's the most important to you. This book is about baby McCann being lost. The way in which her completely 'normal' parents handled that, and 'our' inability to find her, due to incompetence, apathy, money, and a blame culture. She is still lost! Who is looking? Who has 'taken' her? I downloaded this book on Sunday, before I knew about little April Jones. McCanns, thank you for giving us this information. I cannot imagine how testing this journey has been for you or your family, or how you have coped. Thank you for your work here and abroad. I am certain, a lot of the case I am watching today is choreographed and worded appropriately, so as not to cause added distress or legal problems to the case unfolding before us. I know we have you to thank for that. I cannot imagine how you function every day, least of all today, but I am so glad you can. Madeleine and the McCann family, has this week, helped April. it has also helped lots of parents to see how a search and investigation should be done. How a community should act, and reminded us, we are all human. Thank you and god bless SL

Emotional. I have never doubted that the McCanns had any involvement in the abduction of Madeleine. This book only emphasises the terrible times they have gone through. I have laughed and cried whilst reading this book. Very interesting read. Thank you for sharing your thought and life's with us.

What what what ??????. In response to your last post tinkty. Of course people feel hatred for the evil person or people who took poor madeline. what people like u can't seem to grasp is that her parents put her in danger in the first place they willingly left her on her own. They should not of done this regardless of what everyone else was doing having kids isn't a fashion trend. Your children should be your number one priority not leaving them alone and socialising with friends. What they did put maddie in danger. And people like you who think that it's acceptable either haven't got children or if u have then u dont give a dam about them if u think leaving then alone is acceptable. Shame on Gerry and Kate . Everyday we hear of children being taken and abused so why on earth would anyone leave there child alone at all especially in a strange place that they know nothing about. they could of hired a babysitter but chose not too what a pair of selfish morans. With so much written in the media it is good to have the truth from a mother who has been so meticulous with her account of the tragic events. Gripping and harrowing. A personal and intimate account from Kate McCann about the abduction of Madeleine, the inexplicable treatment of her and Gerry McCann by the Portuguese police and media alike. Those responsible for the early investigation at the PJ should hang their heads in shame. I hope Madeleine is found and her family can finally find some peace.

Guilty. I wouldn’t bother buying this book! Just another way of the parents to cash in off their daughters disappearance/murder.. I strongly believe they aren’t telling the truth I would even go as far as they murdered her .. maybe accidentally they still did it. And uh yous do know they did a gofundme page to help find Madeleine and payed off their mortgage with the funds!! They are not interested in finding their daughter as they already know where she is. The amount of people here commenting stating how rude people are accusing them maybe you need to do your research in this case doesn’t take a scientist to know something isn’t right Kate and Gerry have been lying through there teeth.

Open your eyes. This silly woman is cashing in on her daughters disappearance and it seems from the reviews that people are blind to it! A simple Internet search reveals the truth. THEY'RE LYING TO US ALL!! Madeleine is dead, she died in Apartment 5a at the ocean club, possible in an accident, her parents and their idiot friends his her body and later disposed of it. The abduction was staged and they have lied to us for a long time. Their stupid PR manager Cameron Mitchell has been found out pedalling their rubbish in the mainstream media and our hard earned cash that we donated was spent on corrupt rogue agencies who have never done anything to help search for Madeleine.
