Great read. It builds slowly then grabs you. I story I wanted to know the ending of but a book I did not want to end!

Finished in 48 Hours!. I love historical fiction. I love dynamic female characters. I love a good murder mystery. This has it all! It's Kevin Baker's "Paradise Alley" meets the fast-moving suspense of "Dragon Tattoo". I could have read another 300 pages. I was beyond impressed by the author's use of "flash", a language spoken by thieves. I had no idea it even existed! I love learning fro my books! It helped to familiarize myself with a map of the 5 points and lower Manhattan for a little context.

Excellent!. I couldn't put this book down. A fascinating read that puts you in the midst of 1840s New York with the language, politics, and geography exactingly researched and thrillingly told. I highly recommend this book!

Gods of Gotham. Absolute must read. One of those you wish would go on another 400 pages. Thanks to a unique talent. Please write another.

Gods of Gotham. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved "The Alienist " and it was every bit as good.

Gods of Gotham. I have two words: HBO Series! I can imagine this as a weekly one hour drama. Subtitles would appear to translate all the Flash dialogue. Fantastic. I felt like I was watching Gangs of New York...

"Wilde" about this book!. This book is delightful and I was enthralled by the wounded Timothy Wilde, thrown into a career that he didn't want but that he was so thankfully suited for. I can't wait to see him in a second installment!

Gods of Gotham. Gods of Gotham is one of those books that you can't put down, literally. Based on newspaper records and other primary sources of the period, the book is a lyrical representation of the mid-19th century in New York City, and the horrors people have o choice but to endure at the hands of other people. Not only are the book's characters thoroughly fleshed-out, but the time period and the city itself are characters in their own rights. The only criticism present is that it can be at times difficult to grasp the author's meaning in her turn of a phrase, however that is a challenge overcome through more careful reading. Gods of Gotham is a must-read for lovers of history and detective novels alike.

Tightly written and superb. Well-told fascinating account of the Five Points area and a fist rat fast moving murder mystery. Keeps you captivated. You can't put this book down. Great reading and also a detailed account of a period in our history that's seldom discussed.

Great historical fiction of 1840’s Irish in NYC. A fantastic read with interesting characters and detailed descriptions of the streets of Manhattan during great migration of Irish.

Brought me back to an old friend - READING. A stunningly interesting book. I loved the combination of drama and history. Author did so well with character and plot development. To the point where I was SUPPOSED to learn the truth, I simply had no idea who the real culprits were. Best to you and future creations.

Highly recommend. Not only was this book written in a language authentic with the time period it is set in, but the characters were developed wonderfully. Add to that a great story and you've got a great book. If you liked The Alienist, you'll like The Gods of Gotham!
