A Crown Imperiled by Raymond E. Feist Book Summary

“Feist constantly amazes.”
—SF Site

“Feist has a command of language and a natural talent for keeping the reader turning pages.”
 —Chicago Sun-Times

The Chaoswar—the fifth and final Riftwar—is in full, explosive swing in Raymond E. Feist’s A Crown Imperiled, the second book in the acclaimed, New York Times bestselling fantasist’s  monumental saga of courage, conflict, and bitter consequence. Once again, Midkemia, the author’s brilliantly conceived fantasy milieu, is in gravest danger from outside invaders—and from treacherous forces within—as the death of a powerful leader throws the world into chaos and threatens all hope of enduring peace. Returning in A Crown Imperiled are some of Feist’s most memorable characters—including the great sorcerer, Pug, who has been a fan favorite since his introduction in the author’s beloved classic, Magician—and the action, as always, comes fast and furious. The Chaoswar Saga is the master fantasist working at the peak of his powers, and further proof why Raymond E. Feist, like Terry Goodkind, George R. R. Martin, and Terry Brooks, is one of the true giants of epic fantasy fiction.

A great read but..... I have read everything RF has published, and this was a lot of fun. I scale is grand, the characters well fleshed out, and pacing is fast. There are a couple of things that left me scratching my head, but not enough to get in the way. However... Who in the world was in charge of converting the story to this format? Please, do not let them do it again. There are sentences in the story that make NO sense at all, and the formatting is a joke. I have found this to be a minor issue in other reads through Apple, but this time....it almost ruined it for me. Very disappointed, D. Daniel

A Crown Imperiled. Another in a long list of excellent books by one of the giants of fantasy. However, someone truly needs to proofread as I alone discovered four misspelled or actually missing words which detracts from an otherwise enjoyable read.

A kingdom besieged. Excellent on of his better efforts in the last four years.

The next better exceed all..... I've been a devout Feist fan for decades. This book is obviously to set-up 1 to 2 more books, but other than a few surprises...... it was (gasp) banal?!? I must say the last 10 pages were the only part that I truly enjoyed... which I sincerely regret. Please to not think me a non-devotee, but this should have been prefaced Part 2.5. Obviously any Feist fan should read this as not would be negligent, but don't get to excited. Sorry. PS. I think the good news is the next could be as good as "M: Master" or "Darkness @ Seth.".

Disappointing. I've been a fan of Raymond Feist's books since Magician-Apprentice. I've enjoyed the continuity the series has brought, but each novel has progressively lost its allure. This particular novel had some serious errors in terms of the storyline. There was a chapter wherein Pug had discovered something and in a later chapter is presented that Magnus had discovered it. It's so obvious that it makes you wonder if they proof read this before releasing it. There are also a number of grammatical and spelling errors that just take away from enjoying this book. I never thought I'd ever want a refund for a book. But sadly, in this instance I would. Funny thing is I would still continue to buy his books simply because of my attachment to the characters. I just hope that Mr. Feist takes better care in the next book and think of his loyal fans and try to give us something worthy of his first 4 novels on Midkemia.

Great book but lots of errors. I am a huge fan of every Raymond E. Feist book written but was disappointed with the large number of editing errors in the book. Is it the same on paper?

Breatheless. I did not want to put this book down! I hate to wait on the next one but I will.

Awesome and not. The story is what you have come to expect from Fiest. Maintaining the bar set by his first novel Magician so long ago. That being said, the massive amount of typos and pug meeting something for the first time twice realy has really dimmed what was such a great story for me.

Editor is clearly a demon.. The story was entertaining but could the editing be any worse? Missing sentence fragments, misspelled words, horrible grammar and punctuation plus repeatedly rocking back and forth between British and American spellings of words made this book difficult to endure. I know I'll read the next installment but it will be with trepidation more than excitement.
