Fast-paced and hillarious. I bought this book for my son but picked it up and read it out of curiosity. It is a blast! The main characters are interesting and complex, and there's a lot of action with many twists and turns that keep you reading non-stop. My 11-year-old finally got his hands on it and loved it. I had to confiscate it a few times so he would do homework or go to bed. This is a really fun book!

Fantastic!. Can't wait for the next book in this trilogy! Great adventure story. Very readable, but characters are very three dimensional, not dumbed down or simplified at all. The plot never fails to surprise. I've read many books in this space (middle school; young adult) and this is one of my favorites. My 9 and 14 year olds both loved it! If kids like Riordan, they'll love this....if adults like Princess Bride, they will be stealing it from the kids!
