Kiss to dead, more like kiss me good-bye from this series. Loved the series, but she has been phoning it in the last couple of books. Sick of the poor plot, slung together scenes and nice clean wrap up during the last chapter. It is like reading a 30 min sitcom. Last book I am spending money on for this series.

Copy/paste. I felt a lot of this book was cut and pasted from other books with a name change here and there. It could have been better if one of the 4+ plot lines had been expanded upon and the others shuttled off to other books.

Very disappointed. Started off good but took a huge plunge to nowhere. Really a three chapter sex scene? How about getting character names wrong from one book to the next. Last I knew Stephen's girlfriend was not Vanessa. Way too much background story on old time characters which is actually hashed out several times. If I can't remember from chapter 1 to chapter 30 that my problem. I don't even think anyone actually proof reads these books.

Love this books!!. I love the Anita Blake books, but I do wish she would stop repeating herself over and over again!! Ok we know why there eyes stay the way they do!!!! A good book, but a little to descriptive to me!!!! And where us Richard??? I want that yummy Wolfe back around!!!!

Great new characters. I love all the new characters we are meeting and how much we learned about the current characters. I can't wait to see what Laurell has in store for them next!

Not so good. I have bought everything Laurell K. Hamilton has written-from back in the day when she was just getting started. I regret to say, I am not buying any more of her books. This book was really a 100 page short story and 268+ pages of repetitive soft porn. No real plot, no character development. I am grieved at the way good writers whose works I have loved are pushed to continue churning out books when their hearts are not into it. Janet Evanovich comes to mind. So sad.

Story or Summary?. I love this series, but I can’t decide if this book is an advertisement for law enforcement or a complete summation of previous books. If I’m being honest, it’s both. If you just must read all of the books in the series, proceed. If you’re looking for a new and exciting installment in the series, I recommend skipping this book—considering the cost.

One word AFREAKINMAZING. One of her best books, but then all her books are fantastic I have reread then ANITA BLAKE Series, probably 5 times and I never get tired of it. The best!!! Laurell k. Hamilton is one of my favorite authors!

Not good. I have read this series since the beginning an couldn't wait for the next book, but I am not pleased with this one. There are too many details that are repeated over and over. I find myself skipping over pages to get past all the descriptions. I want to stop reading but have gone too far to stop now.

Loved it!. Great!!!

Kiss the dead. I agree with Awriter2. 1/2 way thorough. and have read not much but whining. Very big disappointment. Probably done with this writer

Not too bad of a book. This book is more of a filler book; a day in the life of Anita Blake and her sweeties. I do have to say that there isn’t a lot of sex (thank God for that) but there is some and it’s not too long. I’d rather read multiple books like this than another book filled 1/3 with nothing but sex.

A little disappointed but still a fan. I love the Anita Blake series but this book disappointed me some. I felt like like the scenes were all cut short and lacked interaction with some of the characters. I don't mind the sex but I would have liked to see more depth into the character situations like with with Asher. I liked the book but it just didn't "grab" me like the others.

Kiss The Dead. Loved it

Horrible. This was a horrible book. At the start of it, I really thought Laurell was going to write something that had a great plot and would really deliver this time. However, as the book progressed it was a lot of the same crap we've had to suffer for last few ones: too much repetition, overly drawn out sex scenes, and a rather disappointing execution of plot and too quick of a resolution. I'm a die hard Anita Blake fan just like the rest of the readers, but I'd rather wait three years for a really great book, then every year get something that was just thrown together. Do better, Laurell. I know you can; I've read your best for many years- this, however, isn't it.

So disappointed!. Where was Ted? Where was Richard?! I felt after this many books in this series, way too much time was spent on explaining the who and the why of everyone instead of creating an exciting and terrifying new chapter. This book was so tame compared to all but the one previous. These last two in the series were I'm sad to say, lame! Bring back Ted and Richard and create some new drama!

For Anita fans this is great!. A great book. Though we don't get to see Richard or Jason, we do get so see Zerbrowski. We get to find out about Anita's relationship with Dolph. We hear a little bit about the female Marshal who was attacked by a werewolf in the last novel. LKH sets up future (possible) storylines with Anita and her colleague, Larry, as well as Anita and Detective Arnette--the detective who thought Anita was abusing Nathaniel. There's also a new character that I can't quite tell if he's a friend or foe, but I can see the possible future storylines being set up. For Anita fans, this is another great book. Kimberly Alexis does a great job narrating (on audio) as always and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Another Let Down. I loved this series in the beginning. Sadly it has turned into repeat after repeat of the same thing. I am taking a break from Anita and I am not sure I will be coming back.

Kiss the dead. Good book. Not enough pages....ended way too soon!

Worse book I've read in a very long time. Save your money, don't buy. I absolutely LOVED all her books but this one was a huge disappointment. There is no story, just description of the same characters we all know from previous books, she even describes the same characters twice in the book. It should be in the romance section, tons of sex descriptions but no story line at all.

loved it. I love anita Blake and Merry Gentry and eagerly await every new book. this book raised more questions but that is what a good author does to keep her fans engaged. loved the book and can't wait for the new ones and the out take Beauty WHEW blew my socks off :D wish shed left it in the book. Spoiler alert: Its about time they disciplined asher..... the next book is gonna be Amazing she constantly taking this series in new directions which continuilly leaves me wondering whats next??? a baby for her and nathanial would be awsome i think. loved the book.

Save your money, check this out from the library.. In the beginning of the book Hamilton thanks her new editor but the book doesn't even seem to be edited. It was obviously proofread for major errors and punctuation but if the editor actually did her job she would have caught all the “ly” words, the over use of the word “that,” and the information which is not needed and drags the story down. Hamilton used to be such an amazing author, with unique story lines, but now it seems like she is copy and pasting sentences from her old books into the new ones then throwing in a bunch of added description around those sentences which is irrelevant to the flow of the story. Fire your new editor Hamilton and get one who isn’t afraid to tell you what NEEDS to be changed, then LISTEN to that editor. Filling your books full of whatever comes out of your head does NOT make for a good read. Think of your fans, because if they are like me they will get tired of reading the same stuff over and again fluffed up with useless info and will no longer be fans. I’m just happy this book was loaned to me and I didn’t have to purchase it.

Still steamy series. I love how this series just gets better when other series putter out :)

Awesome. I am a number one fan. And i really loved this book

Nothing happens. It just goes on and on and on and on... It's so boring and hard to follow.

Kiss the Dead. Another let down, I am done paying for a half written book. Loved the first 10 but it's been down hill from there. Too bad it had the makings of a great series.

Kiss the Dead. My one major complaint. Why is this book not about a full were-leopard? Marshal Laila Karlton should have been the story, not a passing question setting up other things. Yes, the male chauvinist pig would like more the "oh yeah I got a chick in the bed now" I have loved Anita since Guilty Pleasures. I am now just tired of First Person. I want to know about the others now. I like the SWAT tactics. I really want to see a full posse of Anita's SWAT team, 4 werewolves, 2 were-leopards, 3 were-rats, and 1 were-lion. Starting the book like we miss the opening scene on Law and Order was not cool. This is a book you have the time to give back ground. I will remain a fan but please give us more

Missing something?. Still a great story teller, just not nearly as good as some of her other books. Usually have some laugh out loud moments, not nearly as many in this book. Maybe too much pressure from her publishers, or a bad moment in personal history.....will continue to purchase her books, just sad this book is not as good as previous reads.

Looking for more. I started reading her series for the wonderful adventure and imagery of supernatural culture and crazy relationships, but they have turne into erotica with a little story thrown in... May just pull out the old books enjoy those again.

So disappointed!!. There was so much repetitive info. I completely agree that it seems she's outta ideas or has writers block. Something is off and I won't spend so much money on an ebook that is this bad. Hoping the Merry Gentry book is better.

Thanks for the review. Almost bought this book. I've read them all but stopped before "Hit List". Sounds like many of Ms Hamilton's fans are disappointed with so much "sex" and not enough action. I think she "jumped the shark" with 'MICAH'. Hey, Anita Blake has been my heroine for years. Thank you LKH for your genius. Sorry if this sounds harsh but reviews were solicited

Hamilton is out of ideas. It seems like our author has run into writers block, so she continues to write the predictable, blasé story lines that have now begun to offend my intelligence and try my patience. I am wondering why I continue to purchase and read Hamilton's books when she seems incapable of an original thought again. I believe that's called writers block. Well, no more! I'm done with Hamilton's Anita Blake series. I will miss the characters and their personalities but if I am truly honest, the characters I love have been gone for a long, long time. Hamilton is just going through the motions now. Her edge is gone and the books are BORING AND PREDICTABLE.

Great story but a little odd. This book has a great story. The thing I found odd about it is that things are said multiple times in different chapters of the book. Anita will describe the look of desire on the men's faces and comment that she doesn't know if women have the same look in one chapter then about 2-4 chapters later she says the exact same thing.

Disappointing. This book was a disappointing read due to the repetitive story-line referencing previous books. I feel that the author was writing this book for new readers that didn't begin with the first Anita book. I found there wasn't much by the way of new information making this book rather boring. Not sure if this work is the last of the series but it is mine.

Better editing?. I gave it 5 stars for the the story line. I love the series, but I thought this book could have used better editing. There were quite a few place were almost entire thoughts were repeated. And one spot early on where "Anita" is thinking she is hearing new information and yet a few pages later, her "thoughts" lead you to believe that she already knew about it. It was slightly confusing :(

Kiss the dead. I'm a forever fan and always well be. I just miss the story , the intensity of the situation. Sex is great, drama is better.

Not her best work. I have read all of this series. The last 2-3 books have been a little disappointing . I was hoping to see more of Anita, jean Claude and Richard. This book had almost no interaction between Anita and jean Claude and Richard was a no show. Let's hope the next book is better.

Love Anita. This book shows how much they are all growing, not as much action as befire but plenty if conflict. I can't wait until the next one!
