Cashing in!. I am not a huge fan of James Paterson, but I have read all the Alex Cross books. This was two unrelated short stories that made for a very short book and not worth it from a price perspective. In a word disappointing.

Easy read. This was a great read. I enjoyed both stories and since we share books at our office, well worth the price.

Waste of money. I'm a huge James Patterson fan. I've read almost all of his books. This book was very disappointing and probably the worst of his books.

Not up to normal standards. I'm a James Patterson fan, especially the Alex Cross stories, that's why it saddens me to say that this book is well below Patterson's usual standards. It feels like he came up with two interesting plots and slammed them together in order to make a one novel using Christmas as the connection. Please take more time with the next one, Mr. Patterson.

Ending?. The book just ends.... It's like the story line is progressing and building when James Patterson decided he was done and fast forwarded a week and offered a recap and poof... Over Very disappointed

Merry Christmas Alex Cross. By boysmumas It's been awhile since I've enjoyed one of James Patterson's books but this was a keeper. Alex is a good person and his torment and decisions were evident in this novel. A little disappointed to see that Bree would put the guilt trip on him when he's only doing his job. But Nana Mama to the rescue. Great read. Well worth the price.

Disappointing. This read like two short stories instead of a novel. The writing seemed to be compressed without the normal detail. What was really disappointing is that ten percent of the book was taken up by a prologue for the next book. It will be a while before I read another of his books.

Alex Cross Christmas. This is the first of the long series of Alex Cross works which I found to be lacking a plot which provoked me to read toward a solution. Rather than diligently reading for details to solve the issues as the plot developed, I found myself reading the battle scenes without developing involvement in the current plot. The intensity that I find enticing in a Cross novel never developed and I felt I was simply reading a newspaper account on events. The experience was not so much of enjoying a good novel as it seemed to be playing a video game of events. I am also getting a little concerned with the character's of increasing whining as to Alex's duties in the Northeast. Overall appearance to be quickly written to meet a deadline without the trademark quality of prior mysteries in series. Check it out but don't buy this one.

Merry Christmas, Alex Cross. This book is really good I couldn't put it down, I got it for a flight to pass the time. I read over half the book during my first 4 hour flight and my last flight was only an hour long, I knew we landed but I din't relize I was the last one to get off the plane, so engrossed with the book but it was short. Buy the paperback $30.00 is pricy for the hardback being so short.

Alex Cross series. I love the Alex Cross, DC Detective, series! I enjoy ongoing cases of Dr Cross in the series.

Disappointing!. The book was not good. Two stories that did not tie into each other and the first one was so bad, I just wanted it to be over! The book is also very short. I am shocked that Patterson would write such a disjointed piece.

Basically,. This is the worst book eva.. James Patterson, go home..

Ehh. Love the series but this one was forgettable. Felt like it was two disconnected stories thrown into one novel. Hope he keeps the Cross series going but has to get better than this.

Good read. I pick this book up in the airport because I left my iPad at home and needed something to entertain me on my flight. After reading some of the reviews, I agree that it is two stories in one book and not a novel. On the other hand, this is the first Alex cross book I have ever read and I am interested in reading some others. I though the first novel was suspenseful and I really enjoyed it. I think it's a good book for those that don't read as often, like me. This book served its purpose, and I want to read more.

Question. Will this one have a conclusion? James Patterson is getting lazy and money hungry. After "I, Michael Bennett" and what he did to his readers, I am done with him. If you're looking for a good book, go read a more respectable author. Or a half-assed one for that matter.

Ripoff. A 220 page ripoff, shame on you JP.

Merry Christmas Alex Cross. This book was a disappointment. I agree with most of the other readers - not the quality I expected from James Patterson, and not much to it for the price. I normally love JP's books, but not this one. Will the next ones be better? Sadly I will be hesitant to buy another one.

A great Christmas story thriller. I loved the book I am a Alex Cross fan what more can I say and no one writes a good contemporary detective story like James Patterson

It was ok. I have read so many of James Patterson's books and they are good. This one was pretty run of the mill, you knew there would be drama, but I felt that it lacked any excitement and there wasn't any catastrophic twists or turns. It wasn't a disappointing book but nothing impressive.
