Deliciously Dark. This book is an amazing book. I bought it yesterday and finished it in the same day. I couldn't put it down. The chapters flow very well and it had me laughing within the first sentance. I was hooked. Carson Phillips is a very sarcastic, manipulative, and lovable character. The book has it's serious moments but is full of sharp wit that will have you crave more and more until the book ends. It's completely relateable and has me wishing that I had said at least half the things that Carson was brave enough to say to his peers. Chris has shown us already that he is talented at many things but this book reinforces it. I can't wait to see the movie!

Love. I loved this book! I only got it bc I love Chris Colfer and his character on glee... but I loved Carson Phillips! I rlly loved his personality and his intentions! A shame that he got a sad ending :(

Fantastic Writing.. I just finished the book after reading it for the past three days.. I have mixed feelings about how it ended, but I really enjoyed the book. Even if I wasn't a fan of Chris Colfer, I probably would have liked the book. I plan on rereading it as soon as possible.

Life Changing. This book had moments that made you laugh, cry, and just contemplate life and what it means to go after your dreams despite the odds

Thoroughly Disappointed. I thought this book might be good, so I downloaded it. Unfortunately, the very sixth word, in the first sentence, was profane. This book has a lot of horrible language. Frequent usage of both the S-word and the F-word. But even if it didn't swear, the story was still awful. I can do better than that! Please do not buy this book, as I believe it is a waste of time. It does not make you feel good, and if you value clean language then that's all the more reason to leave it alone. There are plenty of great books out there, but this is most definitely not one of them. Hope this helped. ~ K. A. Reid

Amazing. I've read the first 10 pages and Fell in love with this book. It deserves more credit! It's such a great book and barely anyone knows about it. The movies was very good but I like the book better. The characterizing in this book so amazing. I recommend this to everyone! And I love criss colfer on glee and his other books :)

Good. It was a very good book! It was very depressing but in a good way I suppose. I enjoyed it very much.

Flawlessly flawed. This book itself is a work of fiction full of truths. A cynical comedy this book now holds a place for books that have changed the way I think. An idealistic world is where we all live. However, Carson Phillips, the protagonist, takes a step away to see the world as is. No there is no real Carson Phillips, but in every version of our lives there is the metaphorical Carson. Would I recommend this book? Yes. However, the reader needs to look at this story as it is. A cynical view on society and the darkness that can follow the outsiders. Also that this isn't perfectly written. Stylistically speaking the story has trouble flowing at points, but it fits with the theme of the actual story. The story isn't expertly written, but that's half the magic of the story.

Perfect.. It's such an amazing book. It talks about under dogs in school, and how hard it is to get so many people's attention. It's funny, relatable, and just, simply perfect. Chris is such an amazing, creative, smart human being and both of his books are simply flawless. So well written and entertaining. The movie is also very, very good. It's hilarious and Rebel Wilson is simply amazing in it. One of my favorite books. Superb.

Great accompany piece for the movie. I watched the movie first then read the book and everything made much better sense especially the ending (a closure). The writing style is quite unusual and it made me feel like I am snooping on some teen's journal. To be honest there're many moments in this book that will probably reminded us of certain parts of our teenage years.

It's great!. I've seen some of the reviews and read that people don't like the fact that the book has swear words, but honestly what do you expect from a teenager's journal? Teenagers swear. The book is great and I am just really proud of Chris.

Great book!. What can't he do? He's an incredible actor, writes screenplays, books, sings,.... Wow! Great book with relatable characters and it pulled me right in! Although, Chris has a mouth that would make a mother blush! He's shown that he's more than just Kurt on glee.

Very, very good book. This book truly is a work of art. Chris did a wonderful job with this teen book. Hilarious and sad all at the same time, with plot twists that keep the reader engaged. A very, very, well-written, inspiring, funny book. Well done!
