So perfect! Couldn’t put it down!. If you’re looking for the perfect romance novel that will leave you vibrating and electrified, then look no further! I was specifically looking for a Black Love novel. It’s written in a very sophisticated tone and with experiences that I can actually relate to from a black author. Each character and their story were very well devolved. This book is definitely worth it!

Valentine. Generally speaking, this book has several typos sprinkled through out, with tons of overexplanations, not knowing when to show and when to tell. Reads like average fanfiction in full “she let out the breath she hadn’t realised she was holding” fashion. An attempt at a whirlwind romance. A fact the writing seems to forget at times, i.e. “In the time she’d known him, he’d rarely used the magic word.” Girl, this doesn’t mean anything when you’ve only known the dude for a few days. More specifically, this story has tone issues. Michael literally pulls Kasie out of the car and says, “I’m going to make sure when you call your father to come to your rescue, you have something real to accuse me of.” But rather than first and foremost fearing for her safety, Kasie is still horny? Even after acknowledging the possibility of being assaulted and/or murdered? This is then followed by coerced consent. Michael’s actions consistently contradict his claims that he’s a respectable man, and the writing normalizes his repeated abuse of power in violating both privacy and security. Honestly, even Michael’s peace offering should’ve included Paul’s X5 and Peter’s holiday home. Do not ship.
