Fun urban fantasy for FRIENDS fans. As much as I loved the first one, I like Xander’s tale even more. A werewolf puppy who fits in nowhere and doesn’t grow into a big scary alpha? (Or does he? Where’s the next book??) Again, this is just pure fun to read. I adore these characters. They really grow on you just like the group on FRIENDS. If you like a little magic/fantasy (this is set in more modern times, big city, so not a fairytale land) and the camaraderie and goofiness of FRIENDS, you really need to read this series!

Great continuation of series. Really enjoyed the 2nd book in this series. Each one of the Mates stories is continued in this book. When things are falling down around them and the impossible becomes possible, these Mates rally together. What a fun story of friendship.

Charming, hilarious mates. This second book in the Mates series continues the adventures (or misadventures) of the six friends as they navigate the complex world of magic users with their unique gifts…or struggles. While plenty of page-time is given to each character, this one focuses a little more on Xander and his saga as he desperately seeks a way to join a Pack before he begins to irreparably fray. I love how all six have such different, unique personalities but I can still relate to and root for each one. The first book was amazing, but I felt this one really ramped it up a notch with amazing twists and turns and revelations. I couldn’t put it down, and can only imagine what’s in store next!

Friends and paranormal clash. Once again I am in love with another of Bridget’s books. Xander and his crew give us more and more. Book 1 Minerva was great and this just made it awesome. If you are a Friends fan, you will love this book. Paranormal-Friends clash for a great read!

Don’t be put off by the multi POVs, so well done!. Second book in Bridget Baker’s new urban fantasy series was another hit in my book. More questions are answered and some great twists and reveals happen in book 2. I didn’t expect most of them and loved that it wasn’t predictable. Someone asked if Mates meant friends or soul mates (like in other paranormal books) and it’s mostly friends with some possibility of more (no spoilers from me). Yes, 6 points of view can seem a bit daunting but Bridget does such a great job giving each character their own voice. I can’t wait for the next book to hear more of the antics of this merry band of misfits. There are some subtle Friends references you can catch if you’re a fan but even if you’re not you can enjoy this book and this whole series!

Fantasy + FRIENDS = Awesome!. This series really is a great combination. I love how it takes a group of people that are so different from each other that they shouldn’t really get along, and shows what happens when true friendships take shape. It’s fascinating to have the point of view change among the characters so you really get to know each one. The little images on each new chapter give you a reminder clue as to whose point of view you're getting so there’s no confusion. I really loved book one (Minerva), so I had high expectations for Xander, and I’m happy to say Bridget did not disappoint! The characters and relationships continue to deepen, the plot lines continue to thicken, and the unexpected twists keep throwing me. I can’t wait for the rest of the series!

A great twist to a classic !. This book was awesome ! I felt in the first book that I needed to know more about the characters and this book did just that. The supernatural take on Friends is such a good series where there are twist and turns you would never expect. I cannot wait to read the rest of it and answer all my questions!! I recommend this series so much !
