Disappointing. Compared to her other books this one was boring. Ok but hardly laugh out loud.

Meh. I could not get in to it. Characters were not interesting enough. And I couldn’t continue reading. Made it half way through and stopped.

I devoured this book!. Couldn’t put this down, read it in two days! It was delicious, charming and so satisfying.

MUST READ. This book filled me with so much joy. Wyn and Harriett were a match made in heaven. The story of friendship brought tears to my eyes. Would recommend and read again!

Bad beach read…. Not much positive to say about about so much poof.

Didn’t want it to end!. A lot of books are slow to start for me but this one had me hooked from the beginning. I usually find books pretty predictable but I honestly wasn’t sure how this one would end. Loved the characters and the setting!

A perfect summer read. This is the third book I have read by Emily Henry, and the best one yet. Without sharing too much - yes, it’s a love story like all of her books, but I appreciate how the love story here expands to themes of self love, friendship and the complexity of family. The things that go unspoken - assumptions, expectations and internalizations. I flew through this book, which I only regret because it’s not even summer, so now I’m not sure what I’m going to read on the beach! If you like easy reads that hook you, and maybe give you a bit of the feels, Happy Place is a great selection.

Phenomenal. Everything about this book is magic. The emotions and the characters are so perfect. There is something in for everyone and I felt truly touched at parts. Amazing! I already want to read it again.

Never cried so much to such a happy book!. I’ve never had a book touch me in the way this did. The way the author writes, the emotion, the relationships, it’s all so beautiful. 100% recommend. Will always come back to this one.

Not a fave. Glad the writer hit #1 an doesn’t have to rely on my review. This was hard to get through, boring characters, plot was drivel, struggled to get through to the end. Thank goodness it’s finally over.

Cut it in half. Good story but way too long.

Loved it!!!. Almost 2 days of my life gone. I could not stop reading and when I did manage to, I was thinking about how quickly I could get back to it.

TW/ so many drugs in this book. This is a drug book masquerading as a rom com. How can you root for the main characters when they are constantly doing drugs? Very unrealistic for a med student. Someone should check on the author and see if she needs an intervention or more inspiration. I know she lives in Ohio and it is boring, but it isn’t that bad.

I read it in one sitting !. This book was better than I expected. I didn’t want to put it down !

Great read!. I loved this story. The ins and outs and trying to imagine myself in the characters shoes (thinking I’d never be able to deal with that). One of my favorites of hers!

Great book, but too long. I really liked this author and I enjoyed this book a lot. However, I felt like there was so much focus and time dedicated to the main relationship (especially in the flashbacks) so I wasn’t as invested in the friendships which was the most compelling part for me. If she cut that out and made it 15% shorter it would have been better.

Love. It was a great read, love the characters, and could not put this down! Finished it in one day!

End. Boo to a moderately happy ending.

Just ok. I guess the main reason I didn’t like this book was because it didn’t live up to the hype people were giving it. I felt this was a slow read that was pretty predictable.

You think she can’t do better and then she does!. This is one of those books that you feel in your soul. It’s now one of my happy places. 💜

Silly Premise. Book is based on a couple so arrogant that they can’t tell people they broke up? What makes them so special to go to those lengths to keep up a meaningless ruse. Why would anyone care?

Really?. Sadly a pathetic story of obsession but aren’t all romcoms? Thankfully the main character dropped out of her residency. She would have made an awful surgeon!

Heart warming and relatable. It started a bit slow for me, and it took a while for me to connect to the characters, but in the end it felt like a nice warm hug.

Live, love and be happy!. I loved these characters—especially Wyn and Harriet and rooted for them to wake up and keep loving each other! This group of friends was a blast to hang with and reminded me of summers in my happy place with my besties! A great summer read!

Dribble. Dribble and drab. A young adult book at best. I’m a fan of the writers easy beach reads, but this was definitely not her best. It shows how good marketing and not good writing can get you on the NYT top list.

Could not put down. I have never read a book that felt was more for me. I loved every minute!

Slow and boring. I really couldn’t get into this. I wasn’t hooked from the beginning and I had to push myself through it. The story line was just so/so and definitely not a surprise.

All the feels. She has a way of writing that makes you experience all the sorrow, love and joy in your tummy. Real feels in this one.

Summer read. It’s a book that can be put down and picked up . Enjoy the nice days by the pool and read, or go to lunch,and read at nite. It tells you about all the characters in the book you are able to relate to one of them or all of them , also very easy to picture the places I your mind. A good book that lets your mind escape

People and places to love!. Loved this quick read. Henry makes the people and places so real you fall in love again and again.

Best book I have ever read. Such a beautiful story about love, friendship, and growing up. Emily Henry is always a must read for me, and every time she releases a book, it becomes my new favourite.
