Banitka by Anna North Book Summary
W dniu ślubu Ada czuje się całkiem szczęśliwa. Na swój sposób kocha swojego nieśmiałego poczciwego narzeczonego o szerokich ramionach. Chce zostać położną, jak jej matka i przysłużyć się społeczności. Czas mija, lecz Ada mimo starań nie zachodzi w ciążę. Po upływie pierwszego roku małżeństwa dziewczyna pojmuje, że znalazła się w niebezpieczeństwie. Nie może pozostać w mieście, w którym bezdzietne kobiety oskarża się o czary i wiesza na szubienicy. Musi zostawić wszystko za sobą i uciec. Tak oto w 1894 roku, mając ledwie osiemnaście lat, dołącza do bandy z Hole-in-the-Wall.
