This was a fun book to read!!. I loved that it had an actual story and wasn’t just a smut-fest. You get a real feel for the characters and what Kris is going through, even though she dithers about her decisions lol but as the “onlooker” it’s easy to say I’d have done it differently. I’m super excited for the next book!

Entertaining and original. Entertaining book that left me wanting more! I hope a sequel comes soon!

Couldn’t put it down!!. This book was incredible!! I’ve read a couple different shifter books, and I’ve always loved them. This one was no different!! Don’t be mistaken by the horse shifter, even though they are prey animals, Aleksandr knows what he wants and has no problem taking it. He and Kris have that banter flirting that you can’t help but love. A true enemies to lovers!! I enjoyed this book so much, I could hardly put it down and finished it with a day. I’m sure that if you love magic, even small amounts of it, you will absolutely love this book!

Funny page-turner!. I could NOT put this book down. It was surprising, to be honest, how much I loved it. I'm not much of an animal person and I haven't spent a ton of time around horses. But this book hooked me quick. Here are a few things I loved about it: 1) Older protagonist. Instead of the usual fantasy protagonist being a teenager, our protagonist here is in her thirties. She's lived. She's made mistakes and she has some scars. She has ADULT problems to handle and it feels so real. 2) The war between what she wants and what she THINKS she should want. It's all too relatable. 3) The magic is intriguing and not at all hokey. It is so well written and brilliantly understated. 4) Perfect blend of romance, drama, and intensity. I can’t wait for the next in the series, but in the mean time— READ THIS BOOK.

Another great book by Bridget E Baker. I’ve never really been interested in most of the shifter books I’ve seen advertised on Facebook, but I love all of Bridget E Baker’s books so I decided this would be one I would read. It was definitely different than I thought. I assumed it would be more fairytale, different world type. Instead, it’s set in our world with some magic elements. I love the details Baker includes in her books, like information about Latvia. It always amazes me how much research she puts into her books and I learn new things. Kris is a strong female protagonist who doesn’t want to need a man, but wants to be wanted (not needed) by a man. Aleks is a man who needs Kris because without her his powers don’t work. The story was tied up with a neat bow, but has the possibility for more, which excites me. I want to know more! I highly recommend this book.

Amazing!. To start off, love the title, and then the cover?!? Yes, please! I like a good sexy shifter as much as the next person, but the wolves and gargoyles and angels and demons get old. Now a stallion? Just read it for the unique idea alone! It was a decently paced book that had a slow burn for the romance you know was coming. European, modern day setting with a bit of steeplechase thrown in there. I liked the main female, Kris, and enjoyed the two love interests who were about as opposite as could be. Made for some very entertaining moments! I was left wanting at the end, so I am hoping there will be a part two to this tale!

Horses, Shifting, Magic - Sign me UP!. If you are a fan of horses this book is a must, especially because the author is an avid rider herself and this makes this story so much better. Plus shifter books are fun and full of energy and I haven’t read a horse shifter book before. Kristiana loves her horses and her farm but her father is a whole other story. His gambling addiction has once again put her into a situation she needs to find a way out of. Kristiana decides to enter into the racing world once more and takes the gamble of all or nothing. When she wins and finally has the money to make everything better she encounters the black stallion in the back. As a vet and horse lover she absolutely cannot watch how he is being treated. So against all odds she uses the money to buy this horse. Of course this is only the beginning because as we know this is a horse shifter book so this wonderful stallion is turning into an ancient russian magician who hadn’t been able to transform back. Kristiana doesn’t know what to think of this new situation and still is trying to find a way to save her farm. Kristiana is a strong lead with a lot of real world problems that she needs to solve while dealing with unforeseen magical obstacles as well. This makes this book not just fantasy but in my opinion also a good upper YA novel as well as a great romance. This is a trifecta of books that makes it hard to put down. Bridget E. Baker has a wonderful way with words and the descriptions she gives are vivid and detailed. Her characters are well thought out and jump off the pages. I look forward to the rest of the series.
