Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas Book Summary

A glorious empire. A desperate quest. An ancient secret.

The search for allies extends to a new land in the sixth book of the #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.

Chaol Westfall and Nesryn Faliq have arrived in the shining city of Antica to forge an alliance with the Khagan of the Southern Continent, whose vast armies are Erilea's last hope. But they have also come to Antica for another purpose: to seek healing at the famed Torre Cesme for the wounds Chaol received in Rifthold.

After enduring unspeakable horrors as a child at the hands of Adarlanian soldiers, Yrene Towers has no desire to help the young lord from Adarlan, let alone heal him. Yet she has sworn an oath to assist those in need, and she will honor it. But Lord Westfall carries his own dark past, and Yrene soon realizes that those shadows could engulf them both.

Chaol, Nesryn, and Yrene will have to draw on every scrap of their resilience to overcome the danger that surrounds them. But while they become entangled in the political webs of the khaganate, long-awaited answers slumber deep in the mountains, where warriors soar on legendary ruks. Answers that might offer their world a chance at survival . . . or doom them all.

The final battle looms in this sixth book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series.

One of my favorites. Reading the reviews, I was not excited to start this book with many people saying they would have skipped itā€¦ WHAT. Itā€™s so important to the storyline. And Yrene is my new favorite character! Read this.

I have no wordsā€¦..šŸ¤Æ. BEST SERIES EVER, EVER, EVER!!!! šŸ’Æ LITERALLY CANNOT PUT IT DOWN!!!

Best book in the series since the third book!. Love these characters!

LOVE LOVE LOVE. honestly was not prepared to love it this much, it was one of the best ones in the series for me.

Tower of dawn. Do not I repeat do not skip this in the order of the series it is amazing

Pleasantly Surprised!. Based on other reviews, I wasnā€™t as excited to start this book compared to the others in this series, but I was pleasantly surprised! Thereā€™s so much good in this book, and Iā€™m so glad I opened it. Ended up reading start to finish in two days!

AMAZING. Wasnā€™t excited for a book all about Chaol , but WOW did it deliver. A slow burn at times but flawlessly done and a perfect setup for the final book!

DONā€™T SKIP THIS BOOK. I honestly think this is better than most the other books in the series. The character growth and romance is amazing, as well as the world building. The information in the book is a big deal (imo) for the overall series.

Chaol Girlie. I totally get the urge to skip this book coming off of the EoS cliffhanger but Iā€™m so glad I read it. Plot points come up in KoA that are important and it made me appreciate Chaol as a character. Now I need Dorianā€™s book

Donā€™t Skip!. Completely worth it!!!!

Surprisingly brilliant!!!. I am one of the fans that absolutely despised Chaol as a character. I was NOT excited to read this story and actually put it off for a month before starting it. Dragging my feet only kept me from enjoying this masterpiece sooner! This story was perfect and brought with it so much hope and faith in the journey ahead. Hope that was sorely needed after the heartbreaking ending to Empire of Storms. Chaol has redeemed himself in my eyes and has fully embraced his role in this story. I am so excited to see where the next and last book of this series will take him and all the rest of our beloved characters.

The ending is unmatched. Slow burn, but the last 25% is incredible and completely worth the read. I had tears streaming down my face.

Meh. While there is a lot of character development with Chaol in the series that reprieves him from his previous behavior in the prior bookā€¦. I donā€™t think it deserved an entire novel only the last few chapters were important information that related to the series. The only characters I think that deserve their entire own separate novel is Dorian and Manon. But, šŸ¤žšŸ¼ thatā€™s my hope for the future anyways. This wasnā€™t too bad, but I still think it couldā€™ve been condensed. Amongst SJM fans this seems to be the least loved novel just because of the characters itā€™s about. SJM is a very talented beautiful author. I love love her writing. Itā€™s just that Choal wasnā€™t one of my fav characters in the above others more favored. I think Dorian and Manon deserved their own book more. I just love them and I didnā€™t think I would like Manon at all, but Identify more with her and Dorian than any of the other sub characters in the series.

Donā€™t want this to end!. An intriguing way to flow new characters into what I assume is going to be an all out battle for the final book. This series is extremely well written and the suspense keeps you wanting more with each book!

Great continuation of the series. I was a little skeptical going into this book because I had no idea it was focused on Chaol and Nesrynā€™s journey. I knew it would still be good regardless but I really really enjoyed this book. I really appreciated being able to experience Chaolā€™s character development. My only complaint is that because so many new characters were introduced, I wish we could get more of them! Iā€™m really looking forward to reading Kingdom of Ash now and seeing how this all wraps up. This series has my heart.

Amazing. Nothing to complain about

READ IT. I was sooo close to not reading this book, like so many reviews suggested. I am so glad I didnā€™t listen. This book was amazing. And itā€™s absolutely important to read in the series. Do not skip it!

Stupid. This book is so long and took forever to get through a chapter. And to add to it chaol is so annoying. If you are reading this skip this book and go on to the next one. His chapters are not important at all in KOA.

eh. too much world building, this book couldā€™ve been half as long. although, yrene is one of my favorite characters now so-

READ IT!. i absolutely loved this book! when i began reading it, Chaol was one of my least favorite characters. This books being about his journey to a different continent had me not wanting to read it. HOWEVER, this book completely changed my mind and i now love his character. i love the emotion and character development that goes on in this book! WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND

OMG!!!. So when I started this I was ohhh greatšŸ™„ but it got so good and I couldnā€™t stop reading it! I was crying at the end it was so good!

Canā€™t put these books down. Vastly entertaining and flying through the series without even realizing it

Love it!. At first, i did not care for this book, but of course, i grew to love it and the stories that unfolded within it!

Loved it!. I was a little put out at first, when I realized this book took us to a completely different end of the world with different characters. With the cliffhanger book 5 had, I was eager to read what happens next. That being said, I fell in love with this book and enjoyed getting to know these other characters better. It all made sense in the end and was a rich, fun ride.

Riveting, enthralling and beautiful. I loved it. The twists, Romance, and sheer imagination! Every series from her has me hooked. I canā€™t get enough

Tower of Dawn. I might regret writing this so soon considering I havent finished this book yet, but 300 pages in and I feel like the story is going so slow. I feel like it was written to stop us from jumping right into the finale, sort of a ā€œfillerā€ to make the series longer than it should be. Although I appreciate the build-up and the stories of Chaol and Nesryn while being away from the others, I wish Maas had made this a bit shorter or perhaps a novella, and not dedicate an entire book thatā€™s taking forever to wrap up. Still, I do recognize the threads that Iā€™m sure will weave everything into place, especially the characters that seemed minor from The Assasinā€™s Blade. Maybe Iā€™ll add more stars once I finally finish and decide that it was all worth it after all.

Worth the read!!. After the ending of EOS I was hesitant when I found out this book cantered around Chaol and Nesryn, and wasnā€™t sold at the first couple chapters, but boy am I glad I read it, not only is there information for the story line that I think is vital, but the character development and some new people met along the way was definitely worth it. I feel kingdom of ash would become confusing without reading parts of this (not to mention some subtle hints at some of SJMā€™s other books)

Donā€™t skip. Seriously considered skipping it. Very glad I didnā€™t.
