Lindsay Ford, kojega su milijuni čitatelja širom svijeta upoznali i zavoljeli pod imenom Shantaram.
Od događaja opisanih u međunarodnom bestseleru Shantaram prošle su dvije godine i čini se da su šume srca spaljene, a zvijezde zastrte na nebesima. Lin je izgubio dvoje ljudi koje je volio: očinsku figuru Khaderbhaija, šefa mafijaškog klana, ubijenog u Afganistanu, i svoju srodnu dušu, Karlu, koja se udala za mladog indijskog medijskog tajkuna. No kad mu bude uručeno pismo s posljednjom Khaderbhaijevom željom, Linovi će se gubici nastaviti, a voljeni Grad Otok u kojemu nova generacija mafijaških bosova ratuje ne mareći za stare kodekse i pravila postat će premalen i preopasan.
