Liddy must break the news to Roland that she is done if she wants to go about her life and move on. One piece of her moving on happens to include finding a puppy for her roommate's daughter: a promise which she refuses to go back on.

They both quickly find themselves confused by their own feelings, which will culminate in the unlikeliest of places: the middle of an animal shelter. Once there, ruckus will abound! Will it bring them closer or drive them further apart? And when a new woman, Amara, enters the picture, how will she further complicate their feelings? Roland, caught in a love triangle, will have to make a decision. But first, he has to decide if his row with Liddy was simply a short term fling, or perhaps something deeper. If he doesn't figure it out, he may lose Liddy forever, even as a friend.
