Page turner. This is a fantastic read, I raced through it! Such intense emotion and beautiful descriptive reading. I thoroughly recommend it!
The separation. Totally absorbing - I couldn't put this book down. I could feel the humidity and smell the lemon grass, hear the sounds and see the sights of Malaya. The English scenes were just as absorbing and took me back to my own childhood in the 50's.
The Separation - brilliant book!. I had read all the other books by Dinah, and then realised I had missed this, the first one. Talk about “start as you mean to go on” - the unputdownable page-turner that I have experienced with all Dinah’s books - loved it. I would just say “what happened to Adil, who was going to follow on?”
A book that has stayed with me. I read this book three weeks ago and despite having read a few books since I am still thinking about this one. It is touching and absorbing, making you feel like you are right in the middle of Malaysia with the characters. The characterisation of the main male character is a little flawed but the female characters are so strong it doesn't matter. A powerful engaging read.
