A real depiction of funeral service.. Having worked in a funeral home for a number of years and assisting hundreds of families, you realize quickly that every death and family situation is as individual as a snowflake. Your book did a great job of depicting an industry from a realistic point of view. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with your work. I appreciated the humorous side and your progressive spirit. Tell me more stories. Funerals are natural events with people speaking their mind about the deceased. I appreciate that. This book explores the ritual, absurdity, humor, drama, and humanity of death. I laughed hysterically at the funeral of my grandfather as a kid because I actually saw and heard family and friends tell stories about him. Wonderful recollections so that I knew that this man was loved. My mother and father were so upset with my behavior but I couldn’t stop laughing because he was alive in the memories of those who knew him. While alive he was actually dead to me because everyone was mum as to the details of his life and now in death he had been bought to life by spoken words. I laughed at a funeral … and now I know why. An absolutely delightful book!
