Rock Hard by Nalini Singh. Holy cow was this book good!!!! I love the Rock Kiss series but this was, hands down, my favorite book of the series. Charlotte Baird has gone through a very traumatic situation and has since then been trying to pull her life together. Gabriel Bishop is an ex rugby player turned CEO and has taken over the company Charlotte works for. Charlotte is the mouse to Bishops T-Rex and after being promoted to be his personal assistant, Charlotte slowly starts to come into herself with the help of Gabriel. For as powerful, rich and good looking as Gabriel is, I absolutely love how patient he was with Charlotte. He never pushes her more then he thinks she can handle, he knew she was his from the start and slowly and patiently made plans to get her exactly where he wanted her, by his side. I loved how they interacted with each other and how delighted Gabriel was every time Charlotte lost her temper with him, I laughed a lot throughout the story even though it was also very heartbreaking at times. I can't even begin to explain how much I loved this book. A lot of authors rush the recovery of a character through their traumatic time and that wasn't the case here. Even as the book ended, they were still working through minor things and that made everything that happened throughout the book more real and impactful. I can't wait to read what comes next.

Stayed up all night. I literally stayed up all night reading this book. It has complex characters. An shows the ups an downs an bonds that form in a relationship. Such a beautiful story. Definitely in my top five favorite books. (And that's saying something) Thank you Nalini for sharing your novel and writing skills!

Exhausting. The main female character in this book is exhausting. (Not a spoiler, you learn in the first chapter) that she is abused. And it seems like nothing the main male character can do, is right. It takes forever to get to even their first kiss. I usually love the boss-secretary story, and after reading this author’s other work, I thought I’d be getting to the good stuff fast. But this one is just slow, it’s mentally exhausting listening to the main character make no progress, etc.

Move over Fox and David, Gabriel Bishop has arrived and stolen the spotlight!. Move over Fox and David. Gabriel's book has just become my favorite of this series! I never expected Gabriel and Charlotte to have such painful and horrific pasts. This book entranced me from the first page to the last. I couldn't put it down and read it late into the night. It made me laugh, made me cry, and made me fan myself from all the heat the two of them gave off! The story might at first glance seem cliched. We have an alpha hero who is very protective of our very shy heroine, who'd rather hide than be noticed. However, Gabriel "T-Rex" Bishop is no cliche. He's willing to wait on Charlotte "Charlie/Mouse" and he does it patiently, well as much as someone whose wanted someone for a very long time now. I loved how he went at Charlie's pace. Even when Charlie was raring to go, Gabriel made sure she was ready and then some. The two of them together were spectacular. I knew that from the very brief snippets seen in Rock Addiction. It helped that Charlie and Molly are best friends, so Molly was able to provide Charlie with support this time around. Knowing how shy and scared Charlie was of attracting attention to herself, I was a little worried she wouldn't be able to handle Gabe and the attention that came along with it. Instead Charlie showed a hidden fire, that I was very glad to see. As incidents from her past were revealed, it became clear why she'd adopted the persona she had. Let me tell you, finding out both broke my heart and made me furious. I had this dull ache in my chest as everything became clear. Charlie might be nicknamed "Mouse" but she had the heart of a lion. She had to in order to live and thrive again. I love how the central focus of the book was Gabe and Charlie and the way the two of them were resolving past hurts and moving forward. I loved seeing them interact daily in a professional capacity before slowly moving things into a personal one. Sometimes these relationships can border on creepy or even venture into the sexual harassment territory, but this book never crossed that line once. Instead, I think it dealt with an office romance very tastefully. I also loved the tone of the book. It could've very easily been angsty and dark, but instead focused on being positive and being in the moment. Nalini Singh has done an outstanding job at showcasing two characters whose traumas of the past have left indelible marks on them, but they've found a way to be stronger and better through the love they have for one another. T-Rex and Mouse have stolen my heart! I keep saying each book of the series is my new favorite and I'm expecting that trend to continue. I can't wait for Abe and Noah's books!

Good story but lacking. I'm sitting here wondering how much better this book could have been if the author knew how to write good sex scenes. I can honestly say that these were the most boring, bland and unimaginative ones I've ever read. And I would have appreciated more visual as far as their looks. She was blond and wore glasses. He was big. I never felt a connection. Too bad.

So many emotions!!. All I can say is... WOW! This book made me stay awake till 2a.m. To finish it! I couldn't put it down. I loved T. Rex and his special way of handling Charlotte and I loved watching Charlotte blossom into a beautiful character!! Much anticipated book was a complete success for me!! Love Nalini!

Rock hard. Omg! I love, love,love Gabriel and Charlie! What a tough little cookie she is, and o.m.g give me some Gabriel ANY DAY! Love the way Nalini writes. Getting straight onto the next in this series.

A little drawn out. While I love both of these characters and enjoyed their journey, their actual coming together was drawn out to the point where "them" working as a couple seemed rushed. Also, unlike book one in this series this one is what I'd call sweet romance instead of erotic romance. This won't make my "read again" list, but if you fell in love with charlotte in book one, and can handle the slower pace, this book is still worth the read.
