An eye opener. Great book, funny, insightful. There were plenty of times that I said " ouch..... I have done that"; now I know why I have scared potential dates away. I like the thought of thinking of myself as a woman first, I have always held back because I am Black. Not anymore! This book will not be a read once and store it, I'll keep coming back for refreshers.

Decent Book. It didn’t really tell me anything I already didn’t know (look good and be approachable). I think it’s more for black women who don’t interact and socialize with whites. I’ve been around whites my entire life so I’m constantly around them and all my friends were white up until college (growing up in Wisconsin). It does touch on racism which is nice however, the author doesn’t mention how Asians being seen in a positive light plays into attraction. Stereotypically, Asians are seen as smart, science/math people, stable, and docile whereas as blacks are seen as loud, ghetto, poor and rude. How American society views us obviously plays into how white men see us therefore the author should have addressed this.

Eve’s lesser known apple. A delicious Fruity hatred of self, that’s unapologetic and mitigates brown on brown relationships. The book, feels contrived, and, unnaturally flowing, as colorism based books tend to be. It does not read like an actual book. It reads and feels, like a extended simpletons pamphlet on how to self hate without appearing to do so. The pamphlet downplays the importance of brown skin males, including, the very man who gave up the 50% to bring her into existence,lol. It’s casually offered advice, lacks intelligent data,and, creativity, for any serious female who’s waiting to exhale. Simply put-the book is hardly a succulently tempting apple. It’s a bitter and stinky vomitus, and,actually less potent than racist based media sources, where some intellectual effort was put forth. Ironically, brown skin men reading the book, and,of the same self hating ilk, will be bolstered that white women are the more beautiful and desirable because they aren’t writing much the same racist material. I recommend, Lori L. Tharps, author of Same Family, Different Colors. At the very least by reading it you will gain more data and understanding on why books like this one are written. That alone, makes you more attractive to any successful male who finds independent and smart thinking sexy
