I like my boys bad and this does not disappoint. “Beautifully Brutal, that was how she’d come to think of this thing between them.” This is a departure from the typical story line we’ve all come to love from Nicole Edwards. It’s not cowboys or naughty clubs. It’s all about the bad boys and the bad things they do on the other side of the law. This is Courtney and Max’s story. Readers are introduced to them in Wait For Morning. Not a required read, but I do recommend (please read it’s very good). Ms. Edwards always provides background enough to catch you up, but not too much to bog/slow down the story’s flow. As the reader, you are presented their backstory, weaving through flashbacks to current day by chapter, to build up to a wild, HEA ride. I am a known fangirl of Nicole Edward’s novels. She is one of my go-to ‘fun’ reads. Never overly serious, dark or sad. I know I will get a HEA with a heavy dose of steam. Yes, Nicole is my number one – I want a HAWT scene I will never have the chance to experience. (Chapter 16 and 54 for bookmarked for later daydreaming.) She writes her Heroes with a huge dose of Alpha, and her Heroines strong and sassy. Beautifully Brutal does not disappoint my expectations from her writing. Her flashbacks are woven in the first third of the book to give you an understanding of the push/pull feelings our main characters. The push away is not maddening, but you come out as the reader understanding why Courtney and Max pressed the other away. We also have two characters that I wanted to shoot myself; as always, Ms. Edwards delivers agonists I have murderous thoughts about. Here’s where I change my typical description of a Nicole Edwards story. Yes, story. As I said, I have certain expectations to her writing. I know her style and I’ll get what I am looking for a fun, not overly serious reading experience. This book changes that expectation. Here you get intrigue and suspense. I got to 64% the way through the book and could not put it down because I had the –oh-my-god-what-is-going-to happen-next-its midnight-cannot-sleep-until-I-know-what-happens-next problem. For those of you never reading a work from this author and a fan of the genre, this will not disappoint. For those who have read Ms. Edwards before, it will not disappoint and give you more.

FanFreakinTastic. This book had me hooked from the get go. So intense! There was no guessing what was coming next, it just hit you in the face out of no where! Nicole is by far my favorite Author. I have read all of her series. Her writing style is like no other... She is always changing things up, while staying true to what her readers love about her and the characters she brings to life. You never know what to expect other than greatness! Her stories and characters are far from predictable!!! And I'm the worlds worst about figuring out plot lines and stories before they end... You can't do that with her books, which makes them so much more amazing. I can't wait for more SBM and Sniper 1 books. I'm in love!!!

Steamy Hot!!. I absolutely love Nicole Edwards!! I have read all of her books multiple times and this one, Beautifully Brutal IS HER BEST!! You have Courtney who comes from the "good guys" and Max who comes from the "bad guys". They've loved each other for years but tried to fight it because "it wasn't right". They go through hell and back together. The title of the book is perfect, they are "Beautifully Brutal". You get all in this book.......anger, hurt, love, happiness, suspense, murder, and hot sex!! I truly believe love is love and a line from the book "Dad you've always told me that sometimes we had to do things that didn't make sense to everyone else". This statement is so very true! You can read this as a standalone BUT I highly recommend you read Wait For Morning first. Well done Nicole!!!

Can't wait to read more in this series. I am thinking I am going to love this new series. I thought I wouldn't like Max to start off with, but by the end, I loved him. The author had me worried in one spot that we weren't going to get our HEA, but she redeemed herself beautifully. The little snippet in the book that gave us a clue as to what the next book will be about, has definitely piqued my interest. Can't wait to get stuck into Ashlynn's story. I loved Courtney and her interactions with Max's men. I felt for her with the struggle she had between hers and Max's world, but I think she made the right choice. Looking forward to more from this series.

Enjoyable. Wasn't sure I was going to enjoy a 'mafia' series but I did. I found it a little repetitive in the explanation of the characters, but I guess we needed that to establish them. Enjoyed the story as I couldn't see what was coming
