Not a bad read, but it lacks something.. This is definitely one of those cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies turned into a book. The book is extremely PG 13 in the sense that even the villins are not that bad. I did not like the Prince initially. He seemed condescending and dddly enough not royal enough. I also found it weird that hte Prince and his sister went all the way to the US for some summer camp or something. Nobody knew they were royalty. In this camp is wehre Sophie and Gill meet Kat. Apparently Sophie and Kat become good friends and they video chat for many years. They are best friends. Kat is invited to Sophie’s royal wedding where she is not well liked by the Queen and Gill because she could be a gold digger, even though Kat is a Dr. She seems more accomplished than the Queen and Prince. Even though Kat minds her business and only wants to be a good bridesmaid the Queen and Gill still don’t trust her. It’s not until another man seems interested in her that Gill wants her too. Some of the arguments seem petty and even the Queen engaged in some juvenile interactions, like dropping punch on Kat’s dress on purpose
. I mean this is the royalty? Sophie was in a reality TV and that is where she met her fiancé. When does royalty go on a reality tv show? It just all seemed so farfetched.

Christmas at the castle. If your looking for a “sweep you off your feet” romance, this is a great start.

Christmas at the Castle. This certainly wasn't the typical fairytale romance. There were certainly a lot of fairytale moments (the wedding attire especially), but it wasn't the typical girl wanting to be a princess. Kat had her career, and was only there to support her summer camp friend at her wedding. The friend just happens to be a princess. Gill is the bride-to-be's brother, and was very suspicious of Kat's motives. However, it didn't take him long to realize he may have been judging her too harshly. His dog, Max, certainly helped the cause as well. I loved everything about this story, but my absolute favorite was the description of the bouquet toss at the reception. I could picture the scene perfectly in my head and it made me laugh.

Charming and Believable. The characters personalities really were spot on. I think it was interesting to see how royals act and how the author italicized the characters thoughts before they answered each other... good love story. Not sexual which was nice. Just charming!

Good Read. Easy reading and author keeps your attention.

Almost a Hallmark special. I loved reading a good story with a great plot. Some romance but a lot of excitement and funny stories. Loved ever chapter.

Funny! Quirky. Funny, quirky and chuckling the whole way through! Received an ARC for an honest and fair review.

5 Star. This book was absolutely captivating. Couldn’t put it down. Had me laughing and crying ( the Queen was mean) but loved, loved, loved it. I want me a Prince like Gill.

Christmas at the Castle. Enjoyed this love story with all its ups and downs!

Fantastic. Katrina “Kat” Parsons and Sophie von Strausser have been best friends since meeting at summer camp years ago. Of course at the time Kat had no idea that Sophie was a real live princess. Now Sophie is getting married during the holiday season and Kat will be spending Christmas in Alistonia, in a castle of all places. This vacation would be wonderful if it weren't for Sophie's brother Crown Prince Guillaume. For some reason he doesn't like or trust Kat. He's convinced she is on the prowl for a rich husband while she's at the castle and he won't let any scandal ruin his sisters wedding. So he plans to keep a very close eye on her. The more time he spends with Kat, the more he likes her though and soon fears he may just lose his own heart to the lovely Kat. This is a fantastic story and a book I would recommend to everyone.

Christmas at the Castle. Easy to read, good story line. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it. It is a rather sedate romance book which is nice for a change.

Christmas at the Castle. Loved the characters & the story.

SHOULD BE A CHRISTMAS CLASSIC. This book is incredibly written and totally pulls at your heart strings!!!! I love the detail and emotion that can be felt and I hope that we may all develop the attitude of “never splitting up family”

Beautiful Love Story. "Christmas at the Castle" by Melissa McClone is book number three in the "Ever After" series. This is veterinarian Katrina “Kat” Parsons and Crown Prince "Gill" Guillaume's story. Kat has been friends with Princess Sophie since they were little girls at summer camp. Sophie has been to visit Kat throughout the years but Kat has not been able to go visit Sophie due to money and school. Princess Sophie is getting married and Kat has saved up so that she can go to her best friend's wedding. Kat has known that Sophia is a princess but didn't really get it until she arrives at Sophie's home (castle). It was wonderful watching Kat take everything in when she arrives at the castle. Prince Gill is Sophie's brother. Kat and Prince Gill have never hit it off. He feels that Kat is a bad influence on Sophie. Prince Gill and Kat haven't seen each other since they were teenagers. There is still hostility between them but they will try hard not to do anything to upset Sophie. As they all get things ready for Sophie's wedding Prince Gill gets to see and know the real Kat. They have their first kiss and then their relationship starts to change. They have one major problem Prince Gill's mother does not approve of Kat. So, will they get their happily ever after? I loved this Christmas romance. The author had me engaged from the beginning to end. It was a beautifully written love story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Christmas at the Castle. Melissa Mcclone is a new author to me, so this is the first book of hers I have read. It certainly won’t be the last. Magnificently portrayed characters make up a fantastic page turner. I urge all to read it. I read it in one sitting and let the other stuff wait; it’s that good!

Sweet Holiday Romance ~ 4.3 / 5. > > Judging a Book by it's Cover < < Breathtaking in its' simple elegance. Cover model could be Ms. McClone's oldest daughter's doppelganger. The synopsis sounds like a nice read and while I normally would not choose a book that is billed under the "Inspirational" category, I've found this author's books to be quite enjoyable in the past and hope to enjoy this one as well. > > Looking Deeper < < Third person POV. Kat initially met Sophie and Gill at summer camp as preteens. Kat and Sophie became instant best friends, while Gill kept a watchful and distrustful eye on his sister's new friend. It's later revealed that Sophie is a real-life princess and her brother, a prince. Fast-forward fifteen years to present day: Sophie's getting married and asked Kat to be in her wedding. Kat had fought hard to work her way through college and earn her veterinary degree, but now had a mountain of debt to pay off, which was negotiated into a contract with the vet clinic she currently worked at. Saving up for a European trip was not easy, but she could not let her best friend down. Ms. McClone painted such a fantastic picture of a small European country with a small, quaint, and charming town not far from the Royals' castle. The staff were heart-warming, the other secondaries ran the spectrum of lovable to deplorable, but it made for a richly diverse and full cast. Gill had his moments where he was not so likable, but his reasoning was fairly sound. Kat was completely enjoyable. I was thoroughly entertained by their interactions and slowly developing relationship. Max was a fun addition to the cast. There were a few conflicts along the way, but all was resolved in the end. Predictability was very low. Their story ended with an epilogue that was solid and satisfying enough, providing the reader with an implied HEA and the prospect of the story continuing on in the background of the next book in the series. This is a clean read and does not go beyond some kissing. It's billed as an "Inspirational" as well, but I found little to no faith-based subplot. I would consider this to be a Clean Holiday Contemporary. Though it is third in the series, I can say without hesitation that this CAN be read on it's own. I've not read the previous two (but now I want to!) and not once did I feel lost or like I was missing something of vital importance. . Cinderella 2.0. Great contemporary version of Cinderella!

Finding Your Prince Without Trying. Christmas at the Castle by Melissa McClone is part of the Ever After series. Katrina “Kat” Parsons needed this Christmas holiday visit to Europe, away from the Veterinarian clinic where she practiced. She was so excited to be a bridesmaid in her childhood friend’s royal wedding. Kat just hopes that she can stay clear of the bride’s arrogant older brother. Crown Prince Guillaume “Gill” only wants his younger sister’s wedding day to be perfect. However, he is distrustful of Kat. Both he and his mother are on high alert, afraid that Kat is not just there for the wedding. They fear she is there to find a prince of her own. Kat’s kindness and generosity prove them wrong. Gill discovers that there is more to Kat than he ever imagined. Can he trust his heart or will he lose the one woman he can’t live without? This was a sweet, fun and entertaining story with very likeable and authentic characters that you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

So sweet and romantic. A perfect read for romance lovers. A modern take of a Cinderella story. I just love happily ever after stories. I wish there’s a sequel of Kat and Gill’s story and the other characters in the book like Sophie and Emily having babies. Will there be a book soon for Jamie, the Marques if Darbyton?

Good storyline but.... There were so many blank pages and duplicate pages in the book! Did no one proof read it one more time before publishing? There was one page that was duplicated 5 times!

Holey Plot & Missing Pieces. There are some holes and there wasn’t much of a follow up on certain things like the trap, the Queen’s apology (that should have happened) and video (or at least a confession of what happened). But overall it was a sweet little holiday read.

Loved it. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Good storyline filled with great characters and romance with a side of meddling thrown in. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
