Dial P for Poison. Another arrogant Ugly American story. A failed American policewoman with no remorse for attacking and brutalizing her husband, who successfully divorces her, runs away to Ireland to teach the locals how to deal with a murder. In mature fashion she sticks her tongue out at least three times, messes up the chain of custody for evidence, gets her aunt arrested, and and breaks multiple laws for her “case”. If all of the foolishness can be ignored, the story remains improbable and silly. Luckily, for those who dream of being an author but have no talent, there is always self-publishing. At least, I did not pay for this time waster.

Dial P for Poison. Weird and funny characters make this a noteworthy recommendation for having long distance relatives who love each other. I kept waiting for Maggie to wind up as a detective on the island’s police force. Maybe in a future book?

Saturated With Suspects. What a delightful whodunnit with nearly every townsperson a reasonable murder suspect for good reason. A San Francisco ex-cop couldn’t help herself on an Irish island from sleuthing to solve a crime . Definitely hard to put down book!

Dial P for poison. Maggie, the heroine of this story, won’t mind her own business. That’s because as a former police officer in the USA, even though she has no jurisdiction in Ireland, she can’t let a murder go without getting justice for the victim, and clearing her aunt Noreen. A good read!

Good Beginning. This was a good cozy mystery. I liked the main character Maggie. She was smart, loyal, and kind and has an interesting internal dialogue. At the novel's beginning, Maggie arrives at Whisper Island, Ireland to stay with her aunt. Maggie quit her job as a police officer after catching her husband cheating on her. After the divorce, Maggie decides to go to her aunt with whom she used to spend summers. Within days the murder of the town gossip soon puts Maggie's deductive skills to the test as she tries to clear her aunt's name. This was a better-than-average cozy. I liked all the side characters and thought the writing was well done. The mystery held my interest and I liked the hint of potential romance for the next book. I will most likely continue on in the series.
