The cover. I donât how the cover looks. I know itâs just a cranberry (I forgot what it is) but...itâs looks... disturbing, creepy, herpies probably but the the book is the best!
Edwardâs brooding and behavior is upsetting at times.. I loved being able to see the story from his perspective. It gave such a stronger insight into the vampire world and the specifics of powers. It was really cool to get into his mind. I especially enjoyed the race chapter. Just getting an understanding for how the Cullens navigate these things is so interesting. However, I couldnât stand his attitude at times. I can empathize but itâs like dude youâre consciously being depressing about a situation you chose, and he is consciously making decisions when interacting with Bella that he knows are manipulative. Itâs just very ego-heavy in those moments, but overall just as exciting and immersive as the original series.
i loved this one even more than Twilight!. Stephanie Meyer has a way of humanizing a monster; making sure that you feel what they feel and love who they love. Twilight was good but this book is a thousands times better!
Better Than Ever. I much prefer the Twilight story through Edwardâs perspective!
You. Creepy.
Love is everywhere!. I loved hearing everything from Edwardâs point of view!
Thatâs a pomegranate. Someone said cranberry thatâs a pomegranate
Midnight Sun is great. Great, that is the word I would use for Midnight Sun. It wasnât good, it was great. I loved learning all of the details and kinda âbehind the scenesâ actions made by Edward. I did get a bit confused with âthe knotâ, but I donât mind. However, some people, and I think I agree with these people, think Edward was a creepy guy. I mean, we kinda just discovered that he followed Bella around all the time, even when she was sleeping. Does this vampire give no privacy? I would love to know Edwardâs perspective in the other books, like when him and Jacob are talking. Anyway, book was a 5/5.
Worth the wait. Loved it. Would really like each book like this. And a book about all the cullens back stories
Even better than the original.. đđ»đđ»đđ»đđ»
Edward, sweetie, youâre a bit dramatic but so am i. This was truly a very enjoyable read. I canât remember the last time I got this excited to sit down and devote any length of time, at minimum 3 hours, to any single story. In a very cliched way, I couldnât really put it down once I picked it up. I rather preferred Edwardâs perspective. Though he can be very redundant and annoying in his almost always conflicted nature, you have to admit knowing what the characters around you are thinking was so so cool. Some parts were drawn out and mightâve sufficed better with shorter summaries (the race, hospital days immediately after the accident) but nonetheless the story had me captivated nearly the whole time. I just kept picturing emo Robert Pattinson in my head whenever Edward doubted his role in the relationship and Iâll admit at times i had to laugh but itâs what makes his character cute and worth reading about. Stephenie please, i beg you, please follow this up and at least give us New Moon in his perspective. You already put out a conversation he had with Rosalie prior to deciding to die, why not finish it? Please give us the whole story or a full story in Jacobâs perspective. Maybe Carlisle? Rosalie? Girl, give us something please..đ«
Loved this book!. I absolutely loved the Twilight Saga and this book is no exception. I read the other books before the movies came out and I do feel like the movies kind of ruined this book for me, I still loved this book but couldnât stop thinking of the horrible acting in the movies.
Midnight sun! Would read it again!đ. Such a good book! I really hope she writes the rest of the series in Edwards POV! I feel like itâs better in his pov honestly!
Interesting. personally i feel like this book is more intersting than the original twilight it is cool to learn about the backgroud of the cullens and thier history but i wish we got more of that, especially about Alice. i feel like edward didnt have a lot of personality even though it was through his perspective i would have liked to know more about him that didnt involve bella
THE BEGINNING. Ok in the beginning home bro was like mega deppresso kinda and heâs like âN-no! I canât kill her! Sheâs toâŠF-fragile! Her skin is transparent! IâŠ..N-need to protect her!!â And he was having sim scrumptious fantasies about eating her i wanted it in full detail but NO JE HAD TO RESIST. Anyways the start is kinda slow and heâs kinda cringey with the whole see through skin thing but then it gets better when she finds out. Also I just want to point out when they are in the forest and Bella is blushing and staring at him heâs just like âIf there is a square area of 25 meters, and there are around 20 bugs in this one section, how many bugs are in the whole forest? 5,936!â
Love. Rediscovering twilight years later and this book was just what I needed.
Creepy not romantic. Iâll admit that Twilight was my guilty pleasure in high school and the movies still are. However this book, with Edwardâs point of view, is beyond creepy. He is possessive and a stalker. It is not romantic. Girls should not want boys to feel this way about them. Couldnât even finish it.
Twilight forever đ. This book was amazing. In high school I was obsessed. I read all the books, watched all the movies. To be able to read it again but backwards through Edwards eyes was just amazing to watch how he fell for Bella as well, and all the inside vamp stuff that we missed. Please please do the rest in his perspective. Or another twilight book in some way. Any who. Great read. Greatest forbidden love story ever.
Great book. I love this book It surprised me so much that Edward liked her way before their relationship started and I like how we can now hear the minds of everyone in the twi-verse as I like to call it
Riveting. I was obsessed with the series when I was younger. Today, I am reliving this adolescence through Midnight Sun. Read the book in two daysâmagical and breathtaking. Edwardâs narrative is compelling, couldnât put the book down!
For my sanity. Pleaseeeeeeeeee continue the story as a now mom of three kids and a huge fan I needed this and itâs helped through the COVID but please reconsider making a sequel of Edward AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGG !!! 100 stars hands down
Jacob and Renessme. Iâm just waiting for one day Jacob and esme gets their own book and itâs from her point of view!
Take me Back. Omg love so much!! Ugh I want to read more now. This just took me back to high school, itâs 10 years later and I love it just as much!
Team Edward 4 life. I love this book so much! Iâm a huge twilight fan and I am a team Edward, so this book was kinda my jam. I love seeing everything that I didnât get to see through Bellaâs POV. It really adds a lot to the story, and I like it. I donât want the series to end! Make more!
For the good of Team Jake. I would die if youâd could make a book from Jacobs POV Ps. This book was far more interesting
take out books. I think this book is so mean and is so fun to read I pea in bottles for 3 weeks i think the president wrote this book about his girlfriend boobey boo eyes
I love edward. I love edward
LIVED IT!. Everything I hoped for!!!
Better than I expected. Another Twilight addition, even knowing the storyline, is awesome. Dipping into Edwards character really changes the memory of the first book, making it even better! Which I didnât think was possible. I guess now, the wait/hope, will be for the next books with his POV to be written and enjoyed. I imagine more Twilight book reading and movie watching will be taking place to reexamine the actors portrayed of Edward with this new information. It is a real treat to get to know the family from Edwards perspective and more scenes of their lives and experiences and abilities, it brings more appreciation for their actions in the series, the deeper emotional connection that ties the family together. Thank you SM! This was an awesome treat, Igniting the wonder of the series all over again.
Amazing insight. I loved that this was twilight from Edwardâs perspective you get so much insight into his thoughts AND othersâ I love how much you get from him, essentially the entire clan, Jessica, Mike, and even Jacob. So much more insight to the Quileuteâs and the treaty and just knowing what Edward is thinking is fabulous. It is a but repetitive but itâs so worth it to fill out the characters more ESPECIALLY Rosalie, her behavior and attitude makes MUCH more sense after reading this. I feel like itâs essential to understanding the characters fully. It was amazing. (Itâs only a 4 because of the unnecessary repetition and bit of filler thatâs in the book but the positives outweigh that in my opinion)
Just no. Twilight was just a very mediocre series. But this book is really terrible. Who wants to read about a guy stalking a girl at night? Yes, Bella is really annoying but she didnât deserve that! I am also so team Jacob even tho he was cringe at times. Instead of making a book about Edwardâs pov they should have made one about Jacobâs. It probably wouldnât be much better but still.
Absolutely fantastic. This was a wonderful book with an excellent choice actor. Praying this series is continued through the end. Edwards side of the story is fantastic. I would love to hear more of his side.
Loved this. This was such a great read. It did get confusing because Edwards brooding inner monologue is so long and in depth but completely on par with his character, and not having it would negate his character on a major level. And because, as the author has demonstrated, vampires think and process multiple things in their heads at one time so an entire separate conversation happening in Edwardâs head between when heâs asked a question to when he answers it, is completely on point with what youâd expect from him. I really enjoyed this book. I hope that Miss Meyers will give us more on this series she started, especially now that no more movies can follow this. I appreciate the movies, but they pale in comparison to the books.
True Fan. Itâs everything I was expecting and more! I hope there is more to come!
Hereâs the dealio. So this book is just very true. Edward is the most dramatic character in any book Iâve ever read and none of that is missed here. We now have some forms of explanations for all the weird stuff (eating her tear and being a stalker especially) and personally I now get their relationship so I guess thatâs a win. Overall I liked reading it and it was well written if a bit much at times, but isnât that part of the greater seriesâs appeal? Anyway I need to go off and listen to some emo music stat so I can feel what itâs like to be Edward in this book...
Better than Twilight. Iâm not the biggest fan of the series, but I have to say I really liked reading from Edwardâs point of view because it was more descriptive and it gave me a better view of his perspective. not my favorite book but I would read it again.
Just what we needed. Loved it đ
A Great Idea For Fans!. I was wary getting into this book because of Edwardâs famously dark and masochistic thoughts. However, it surprised me- his motives and turmoils were interesting to experience. And yes, I say experience! Stephenie Meyer doesnât just present the above information, she writes in a way that drags you into the character and situation. This was a perfect end to my Twilight phase.
Beautiful end to the Twilight saga. What a beautiful way to take the reader back to the original story through the lense of Edward. Reading it was nostalgic but new at the same time. A must read for Twilight fans!
Definitely worth a read. Hearing Edwards thoughts and being able to see Aliceâs visions through him was the best part of this book. The race to get to Bella in time to save her from James was very thrilling. It also made me like Jasper a lot more, he seemed more involved which was cool
The background on the Cullens was engrossing. I flew through this 1,000 page viewpoint of Edward, but not because of his inner-battling monologue. The stories and details about the Cullen family really fleshed out their characters in a way I hadnât read them before and it was completely enthralling. I was so impressed by how Jasper was written specifically, but overall learning how they interacted with one another really filled in some holes in the lore I thought previously existed. Or Meyers noticed them and filled them in, whichever, it was a treat to read. There are a hundred little details I loved, like having a peak into what Jacobâs thoughts sound like to Edward, it was all very special. I had a moment at the end of the book that I got emotional because I love Meyers ability to convey emotion and I hope we are gifted with more future work from her.
Love. Love it
â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž. It was sooooo good, 5 stars
addicting. i have been a super fan of the twilight saga movies for YEARS. i watched the movies before i even picked up the book because when these books came out i was only 9. 22 now i watch the movies almost every other week! my dad bought me the books on my phone because he knew my obsession and i read Twilight knowing i would love it already! but THIS book crushed my heart repeatedly. never in my years of watching Twilight had i understood Edwardâs love for Bella, i always thought it was just fascination for her and his struggle with reading her like he so easily had with everyone else. tho this book depicts Edwards love and obsession with her so much deeper than i could have ever imagined ! i was sucked into the book comparing Twilight to Midnight sun and i can saw 100% this is my favorite book of them all and i havenât even read the rest of the books! I wish i could read it again with fresh eyes! 10/10 would recommend. now iâm onto new moon đ
I really thought it couldnât get any better.. These books all mean so much to me. Nothing throws me in a different world quite like the story of Bella and Edward. This book is my new favorite. Seeing the classic through another point of view is crazy. So thankful to Stephenie for keeping it all going.
Out of the park. First, donât read the one star reviews. They are just a bunch of girls not liking to read a book from the perspective of a man. Second, they all say that Edward is creepy and a stalker. Yet he literally wanting to break up with Bella in the the first twilight. In the last chapter of the first twilight sheâs literally begging him not to go. Her heart rate is through the roof cause she thinks heâll leave her. Third, I like Edward. Heâs not creepy he just madly in love. And sheâs madly in love with him. So how about all you girls go read fifty shades of grey (which is crap by the way, this is much better).
Bittersweet. Absolutely loved every word and the vampire thoughtfulness was a welcome change and good touch to the story that is Twilight, knowing Edwardâs thoughts alongside of what we already know with Bellaâs, itâs almost like a completely different story, but at the same time itâs still the Twilight we know and love. Will read again, and again. And probably again, along side the original Twilight.
It gave what I wanted!. This was the perfect book for a lover of the series. It was everything Iâd hoped this version of the story would be... totally indulgent, over the top, fan serving, and honestly a great companion to the first book. But it also went beyond that! It gave more detail that really solidified the story and made it make more sense. The connection between Edward and Bella, the reason behind the intensity, and the impact of it all was better understood through this lens. It brought the story slightly closer to the possibility of it all being real in the sense that we could relate better to the emotions and understand where these two characters were coming from. Overall a very fun read, sure to transport one back to years ago where our obsessions with this series began in our young hearts, but also sturdy enough to engage readers new to the experience. 7/10 objectively, but 20/10 for me personally!
Not Worth The Time. This could have been summarized in one paragraph. Itâs very boring and the longevity of it makes it worse. For such a skilled author I felt like she was getting back at EL James for stealing her charactersâ likenesses. Now Iâm definitely Team Jacob because Edward is an annoying wuss!!!
Love his POV. Loved it â€ïž

Disappointed. After reading the first five books I was supper excited to read the latest one. I was unable to drag past half of the book. Oh! Edward was mush more interesting from Bellaâs eyes. Jacobs point of view was interesting too. This books is a ripoff. Edwardâs point of view felt disoriented. Itâs boring. It was fun to read the 1st few chapters. Then I was speed reading. It could have been better written. Or it was just written to make $$$.
Take me back. This took me back to the time when I couldnât put the Twilight series down, I live to read and this series is the only one I have read again and again... and this book did not disappoint, it was great and intense reading the book through Edwards eyes .... I really hope that she will reconsider and write the entire series through Edwards eyes.
It's really good to see the 2 sides of the medal hihi and I like it. That's quite a good book and it's good to have the Edward's side of the story lol
It never ends. And Edward is a manipulative psychopath. I loved twilight as a 19 year old but my god. This guy is a stalker and the inner workings of his brain make me want to scream at Bella to run as fast as she can to get away from all the freaky deaky stuff that he thinks about and does. He hides in her room every single night. No, that is not a healthy relationship. That is not âprotecting herâ. That is a toxic relationship. He is a psychopath and a manipulator, creating this dependent relationship where he thinks she wonât survive without him protecting her. Buuuulllllll crap. And you want little girls and boys to read this and think thatâs what love is? And to get married in high school? Omg. To think I thought this was amazing when I read it from Bellaâs point of view. Well, at least she was a character with substance. I couldnât finish it. Kept putting it down then trying to get back into it and eventually I gave up when I realized I hadnât gotten to the baseball / three evil vampires part. No. Just no.
INCREDIBLE. I LOVE IT. 5+ STARS.
Enjoyed!. I thought ugh that with knowing the story already I would find it a dull read but I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Loved it. I loved this book, one of my favourites
Great to hear and see the story from EPOV. Iâd been waiting for this (after reading the leaked online chapters years ago). This story does not disappoint. Edward Cullen is the most intriguing character in the series in my opinion. The thoughts he has and the struggles with being what he is to live his day-to-day life. I also enjoyed more of the backstory with his family life especially his relationship with his parents. Itâs great that Midnight Sun is nearly 700 pages. I recommend the series to anyone. Itâs awesome!
Loved. Twilight!!!!!!! New book yasssssssss!!! Iâll read it and love it even if itâs crap BECAUSE ITS TWILIGHT
It was worth the wait. Reading this book felt like a return. Not a rehash, a redo or redundancy. It is a return to those moments of happiness and excitement as you clutch a book and wishing to never put it down. Stephenie Meyer returns with her characterâs charisma in full force. We all loved the clouded but somehow shining atmosphere of the original Twilight and this book is the expanding of that story we crave. This book displays that there is more to the story and that even after all these years, we will always be thirsty for more.
THE BEST. No words come to mind, this book is that good. As a fan of twilight waiting for this release for years? It is 100% absolutely worth the wait!
Should have done New Moon. SM said this is the only book she is writing through the eyes of Edward. If she was only going to do one book, I wish it was new moon as there are so many questions unanswered with Edward in that book..... we can only hope she changes her mind and write what Edward felt in New Moon...
The missing piece of the puzzle. Love it! This book is the last missing piece of the puzzle. It answers so many questions and clears out so much more. Couldnât put it down and made me reread the entire saga all over again
I waited so long for this. This book exceeded my expectations. I already know the story of Twilight from Bellaâs POV and didnât think I needed to hear it from Edward but I learned so much, I better understand it all and Iâm PRAYING that we get the other books in Edwardâs POV because I need to know!!
