Wedding Gift. Good read, wish ending was different, but still a good read

An excellent book!. A good friend recommended this book and I am so glad that she did! While it was painful to read the horrors of slavery, the story was made interesting by revealing the depth of each character. I couldn't put it down - an easy read - and was shocked by the ending. Lots of twists and turns. Make sure that you read all the way to the last page. Looking forward to more works from this author.

EJ. Probably one of the best books I have ever read! Captivating since page one and it only gets better the more you read. I was trying to figure out how it would end. I figured the ending would be somewhat of a disappointment but I was terribly wrong. If you looking for a good historical read this is your book.

Even though a novel I believe a great deal of the details of slavery and all the things that transpired around it to be of some truth.
