Daddy?. Pamela Atwater & Dane Bergman work together. Getting into a more intimate relationship would be foolish, right? What if there was a child in the mix? Pam is Dane's amazing assistant. He literally could not do his job and have his company run without her. She is his right-hand woman. There is no attraction between them. Well, not until she is forced to help him with the daughter her never knew. Then when they go away together, like a family, they both notice the attraction. Dane is feeling uncertain for the first time in a very long time. All of a sudden he finds out he is a father. He finds out he is attracted to his assistant. Can he handle both without losing it? Pam knows she has feelings for her boss. She was already considering he options as far as her job and working for him went. Then comes Dani. The most wonderful little girl who just lost her mother. Pam falls for her instantly. Can she keep from falling the rest of the way for Dane? Dane knows without Pam he cannot get to know his daughter, Danielle. She does not like him and won't give him the time of day. She seems to relate to and like Pam. So he does what any millionaire employer would do. He tells Pam she will help him and he will pay her more. Such a fun story. The learning to adjust period has its ups and downs and makes it fun for the reader. Boring. DNF. Did not care for Pam. I felt she was intrusive. Pam had no life because she was always in Dane’s life. Naturally he would expect her to step in with Dani. Dane could not bond with Dani because Pam was always there. He needed to step up, would not because his daughter didn’t like him. Whatever. Two stars because I liked Dani. Precocious. Some say spoiled, but she’s four and just lost the only parent she knew. She was entitled to a little 4 year old attitude. In any event, I found I didn’t care how it turned out.
