Meh. Some good parts. He writes with very long sentences like Dickens, but unlike Dickens, his writing isn’t very fun.

Last of the Mohicans. Great book. It is greater than the movie I saw. I love these kinds of books.

Excellent read!. As one who grew up in this area of Glens Falls (note the spelling), Fort Edward, Fort William Henry and Lake George, it brought many images clear to my mind. I had always wanted to read this book, and this e-book gave me the easiest opportunity to do so! BTW: The cave mentioned at Glens Falls is now called "Cooper's Cave" - in honor of the author!

The Last of the Mohicans. The movie with Daniel Day Lewis was great, but the original story is even better. Cooper is great in his depictions of Colonial America, the locales and intrepid woodsmen!!

Nothing like the movie. If you think this is the worst book ever written, perhaps you shouldn't have dared to stray so far from your Tom Clancy/Danielle Steele little world into the land of early American literature. Though the writing here is extremely flowery even for its time period, the story itself is quite exciting. For those who liked the movie, this has almost nothing in common with it. There's little romance and lots of action.

I really enjoyed reading this classic!. The story showed how we can live together without judging based on skin color.

The Last of the Mohicans. Great story of race and learning equality of mind and heart and to awaken respect for other races and cultures. We are all made by One True God. Stilted language.

Good read. Overly dramatic and verbose at times, but nevertheless a classic.

Atmospheric novel. It is an engaging story with memorable vivid scenes.

madam. I had not read "The Last of the Mohicans" since I was about ten years of age, many, many, many years ago. I had forgotten it's sing song quality in tone. How very beautiful. I recommend this book to anyone, especially a person interested in the early American traditions of white and red races. It reads as a novel and yet as a history book. I was enthralled anew.

It’s ok. Not a bad story. It’s hard to read and Cooper can be very long winded. But after 25 years, I finally read it.
