A unique and extremely good read.. Gosell has done an amazing job with this book and I cannot wait to read the next one.

Good read. Different from what I usual read, but a good story line. I will be reading the rest of the series.

Great story line. Needs some proofreading and cleaning up in some layouts, as there were a few parts that were confusing in the context vs content. Overall, excellent straight forward approach and humorous to boot.

Good story however..... Good story. Different in a good way from a lot of what is in the free sci-fi books section. About 3/4 of the way into the book it sounds like someone else finished writing it. The person writes as if English isn't their first language. Weird & distracting from the story.

Highly enjoyable.. One of my favorite books.

Couldn't put it down!!!. I learned of Gosnell's first installment through a friend. Given that I am not an avid reader if the fantasy genre, I began with some hesitation despite the rave review of said friend. By the third chapter, I was hooked. The pages are filled with nonstop action, vivid imagery, and enough debauchery to put the kids to bed. Can't wait to pick up the second book!

Really good fantasy book. This is a really good series where the writing actually gets you to start to care about the characters - which imho is best type of writing. If you like this book buy the mini story 'mystery and a meal' before book two so you read them all chronologically.

REVIEW. I don’t like sex in books so that is one of the main reasons it isn’t a higher star. It’s not a one though because he doesn’t give in. The times he comes close, someone helps him stay clear. I also like that he loved his wife so thoroughly. I also wanted to mention if you ever want to be published by the big houses. I have been told by these people you start with an agent. Then the agent can help you find an editor and later a publisher. The thing the publisher likes about agents is that the agent already knows what the publisher likes. This makes the publisher more likely to read your stuff. If you are ever fortunate to be read by them be prepared for a lot of red ink. I’ve been told they like great reading material. They will be merciless in rewrites. Everyone deals with that differently. Oh and whatever agent you get, don’t pay them until you are published. A legitimate agent will not be paid until you as the author is paid. Good luck.
