Lovely. I enjoyed the mixture of modern and historical romance, it’s different but definitely scandalous enough!

The Duke’s Mistress. Weird. A historic English BDSM? I’ll say it again, weird. The book had very thin storyline. Mostly it centered around the BDSM idea. Not my idea of romance.

The Duke’s Mistress- an excellent read.. I loved the characters and the story, would have preferred that it not be so scorching hot, but I’m quite sure others will enjoy it. And, the ending was wonderful which I have realized from other cliffhanger stories, is a huge part of the enjoyment of the read. Get something ice cold to drink because you are about to have a spell of the “vapors”.

Emotional. Satisfactorily done and a quick read. Puts you through the feelings and leaves you wanting more.

The Duke's Mistress. As usual Carole Mortimer has outdone herself in this Regency Romance of Thea and Julian in their sensuous romance. Her descriptions of the time period, the castles, clothing and customs are right on. Anyone who likes/loves historical romances will thoroughly enjoy this book. LaMar

Excellent. Loved it I wish it was a part 2

Romantic Regency mystery. I have read Carole Mortimer before but this is the first historical romance of hers I have read. She creates a wickedly handsome alpha male hero in the Duke of Blackmoor and pairs him with a sweet and proper little widow-next-door heroine, creates a mysterious woman who somehow means them harm, and then the fun begins. From attempted murder to erotic spanking, the heat and danger kept me turning the pages. Good entertainment.

Good story. I like the story very much, but there were a few things I had to overlook in order to finish the book. First of all, the langauge of the book does not seem regency eough. Sometimes the Duke would speak as if he was in the 21st century. Towards the end of the book the main characters do something that should of caused scandal, it is not something that would have actually happened consdiering the time and place of the book. However, the story was good, so i overlooked these things, but they did bother me. Another thing that bothered me was how quickly the 2 characters were engaging in sexual affairs. I wish that there had been a bit more of a story before this happened, but after that there was enough of a story to keep me interested.

The Dukes Me stress. Very interesting to much details and liked the ending

The Duke’s Mistress. I usually like Carole’s books but this one reads like soft porn in terms of language and behaviour. I prefer when romance and history intertwine. That is what I expect of historical novels as well as the fact that morality then tends to be seen as important. When sex is involved, it’s a little more subtle. I guess the term unlaced frees the genre to be flout the conventions of the period.

Beautiful Regency romance. Take a widow who dreams of taking a lover and experience the up and downs of this romance. Include some danger and that prevents you from putting this book down. Loved it!
