Both are looking for fulfillment in a new life, but Cass is closed off to any new relationships. Archer is searching for what he wants and begins to realize Cass is becoming more important to him with every day. He only needs to convince her of that. Archer has met his match. To me, Archer was a little scruff and tuff around the edges in the other series. This book, however, shows just how open and compassionate and loving he really is. Cass has a hard obstacle to overcome in finding her father. Arriving in Panama, not knowing anyone, and not having anywhere to stay would unnerve anyone. But the strong willed character Cass is allows her to move past that. Cass has one question and needs answers to it before she can move on with her life. Where is her father? But, will she be all alone in the end to discover where her father is? Highly recommend this book as well as Elena. Love being on her ARC list. She's an amazing author and could totally see being friends with her should we live closer. Kudos Elena!!

Good read. The first in this series. Ms. Aitken has written an enjoyable read. One character is a spin off from a earlier series. Steam and story keeps the entertainment alive. Good read.

Awesome love story. Loved Archer story so glad he is finally finding his place in life and that Cass was also able to find hers. Love the new series that Elena is starting up with the Destination Paradise and the new characters being introduced. Love the little bit of mystery and a lot of romance well written Elena I can not wait for more to see where everyone goes. Castle Mountain and Stone Summit need to come for a holiday.

Cass and Archer are pretty perfect for each other. Another great read from Elena Aitken, and a great introduction to a new series. I had to keep reminding myself that I knew Archer from her previous series, but we really get to know him in Shelter by the Sea. He's a great character with a lot of depth. He's searching for himself and doesn't realize that by meeting Cass, he begins finding himself. He's wonderfully sensitive but sexy and seductive at the same time. Cass is a bit of a hot mess, but she's extremely strong and confident with a can-do attitude that I love. She approaches life with a positive attitude, even when everything is conspiring against. She and Archer are pretty perfect for other. It is fun to watch their push-pull as they fight their feelings for each other and what they think they want out of life. The author introduces some wonderful, quirky characters that really bring depth to this story, from the woman on the island to the twins and Joe's ex-wife. When I realized the direction the author was headed with the three-day tour and the women on board, I laughed out loud. What a perfect storm of awkwardness for Archer! The mystery around Cass's father gets wrapped up a bit quickly nearly the end of the story and while I was happy to read the resolution, I felt after being stretched out for the majority of the book, it was wrapped up rather abruptly. But, Cass and Archer's story is brought to a happy conclusion with so much left teasing us for future stories from Panama. Archer and Cass!. Great story that finally gives us Archer's story! Archer is a great guy who is a bit lost. I really enjoyed this story..esp the setting....fun quick read great for a beach treat!

Shelter By the Sea. Shelter by the Sea by Elena Aitken is the first book in her new Destination Paradise series. We begin this story with Cass Cutler arriving in Panama after leaving her life in Seattle. She is on a mission to find out what happened to her father, who has been missing for three years. Archer Wolfe was a chef for Samantha Burke’s bar in Cedar Springs, in Canada, where Ms. Aitken’s The Springs series takes place. Archer was given the trip to Panama as a gift from Samantha. Once there, Archer decided he wanted to travel more before, or if, he returned to Canada. These two, Cass and Archer are both loss souls. Both need to find a purpose for themselves. To find out who they really were. Cass learns that her father left his boat behind when he disappeared. Her dad had left Cass when she was a young teenager and believed that this was just more of his disappearing act. Cass and Archer work together to run a charter business on her sailboat. This was the perfect solution for both of them. The attraction between the two grows as they work together. Cass needs to learn that she can trust Archer, that he will not leave her, like her father did. This was a fun and entertaining story with likeable characters that you want to support and cheer on hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written and complex. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. I highly recommend this book to other readers.

I was an early arc reader and I am apart of Elena street team group on Facebook, I really enjoyed this story I know how cass feels about not wanting a realionship after lossing a love one , she did the right thing going to pandas to save what her dad left over and she in charge this story was awesome great work Elena and can't wait for the next one

Sweet Happy HEA... Loved this book! Elena is a master at describing her characters & locations in a way that enables you to picture them in your mind & join them there. Both Archer & Cass are realistic characters in their expressions and reactions. Cass comes across as being spunky & adventurous but you can sense the troubled underside from the abandonment of her father to quiting her job & losing that security. Archer comes across as a little bit of a beach bum in the beginning but you soon see that as false as he gets the job as chef and works hard. The chemistry is there from the beginning. Elena's writing pulled me into the story from the beginning and kept me entertained throughtout the entire book. I didn't want to put it down! I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

Awesome new series!. Cass is in an unfulfilling job and even more unfulfilling relationship when she gets the news that her father is presumed dead and, as his next of kin, has to do something about his boat in Panama. It's been a long time since Cass has seen her father but she needs a break from her life so she goes. Cass is ready to focus on paying off her father's debts and isn't looking for attachments. Archer has been in Panama since his friends bought him a trip for his birthday. He plans to see the world and isn't looking for attachments. The chemistry these two have from the second they met help them work together to get a business rolling. I loved Archer; he's charming and funny. I haven't read the Spring Series that he was introduced in but this book quickly moved the series to the top of my TBR. Cass is so strong. She takes all of the news of her father and the speed bumps put in her path in stride. Between the beautiful location and the chemistry between Cass and Archer, I couldn't put this story down. I can't wait for Book 2 in the series!!

Great Romance!. I loved Elena Aitken's new book! It is the first in this series and I'm most definitely going to read more in the future. I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

Amazing read!!. I received an ARC from the author in return for an honest review. I am so glad Archer finally got his story, and what a story it was! Cass is a great choice for him. She's spunky and feisty. She has a soft side, and a hard side. She's been through a lot and is still kicking. I bet these two will have an awesome adventure in life together.

Looking forward to more Destination Paradise. While I love Archer and have since we first met him, I did not immediately like Cass. I know she had problems from her past and was trying to come to terms with her father's disappearance, but she and Archer definitely have chemistry and it annoyed me a bit at how she treated him. The other characters in the book provided some interesting moments. In the end everything works out and Cass did grow on me a bit. Overall I liked the book, but I also wish there had been an epilogue so that we could have seen what happened later and if Cass ever got to meet Archer's friends from Canada. Amazing!. Cass Cutler was on a mission to find out what happened to her father in Panama. He owned a ship that was left abandoned for 3 years with no trace of her dad. Her trip through this beautiful country was easily imagined by the great writing of Elena Aitkens. Cass met Archer in the most unconventional, yet funny way! Their friendship soon grew but neither one of them trusted their feelings thinking the other would soon leave. Archer was from Canada trying to find himself as was Cass but for different reasons. What a beautiful place to find themselves together and also find the love they were both seeking. Such a great book!

Great new book by Elena Aitken. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Although this is the first book in a new series, if you have read The Springs series you will already know Archer Wolfe. The beauty of this book is that you don't have to have read The Springs to enjoy this book because Archer is the only crossover character and his story is set in a completely different location. Archer and Cass's story is full of sizzling chemistry and heat, and it has just enough mystery in there to keep you turning the pages to find out what really happened to Cass's dad. Another great read by Elena Aitken.

Shelter By The Sea - Fantastic romance of Cass & Archer. Being a member of Elena's Street Team, I just completed the ARC copy of her new book. I've followed Archer's life in her other series & I have to say, this was a new adventure for him find true love. Cass's life was committed to make a new future in another part of the world. Working together, they had to overcome trust issues & not being afraid of being left behind. Their increasing attraction & trying to save her inheritance made for a beautiful beginning & ending to their love story! Fantastic book! Loved every word of it! 5 Stars!!!

At least it was free. This book just dragged on and on. I was hoping it was almost over but saw I was at 75%. Cass was boring. Archer hooked up with another woman right before he met Cass and then that woman ends up on Cass’ boat. I just wasn’t a fan.

A gentle, romantic book. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, the opinions expressed are my own. This is a really nice story, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was good to have a story about Archer, and in a totally different setting to all the other stories in the series. Panama sounds like a really good place to visit. Archer Wolfe is a typical backwoodsman who never envisaged any other sort of life. When he is forced to take a holiday he finds that he loves travelling, and wants to do more of it. Cass Cutler is forced to go to Panama to sort out her father's personal effects after he has been declared dead after being missing for three years. She finds a very large boat, and massive fees to pay as the boat has been moored at the marina for three years, and she has no money. She hasn't seen her father for twenty years. She meets Archer on her first night in Panama, and there is an instant attraction between them. It is a gentle story, well worth reading.

Ending came too soon. As romances go, this is quite standard -girl needs to travel for a reason, gets to where she needs to be, meets a handsome, very attractive man and eventually falls in love in a matter of weeks. But I felt it ended rather abruptly. No sooner was it found out what had most likely happened to her father then the story was finished! Frustrating as I think it could have continued for longer. Still enjoyed it though.

Great Read. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. This book had me captivated from the get go. I have always had a soft spot for Archer since I first met him. I loved the chemistry between the characters. The flow of the book was great. Another amazing read by Elena.
