Love and Babies. I enjoyed reading Summer in Manhattan by Katherine Garbara. After Cici Johnson has a drunken one night stand with Rich Maguire she unexpectedly ends up pregnant. Rich wants nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the baby or with Cici. Although Cici never expected to become a mom, she is determined to raise her baby with all the love she can. Jason Hooper was abandoned after birth and spent his entire life wondering what family means. He was in and out of the foster care system until being adopted by a wonderful family as a teen. Because of his background, he never gets close to anyone in case they walk away. After meeting Cici he feels like he’s finally found his place and his home. He has to figure out if he can accept Cici and the baby while Cici needs to stop running away and believe that Hoop has her back. I enjoyed reading this book. It is really a great story showing the importance of friends and family and believing they have your back.s Ms. Garbera is a wonderful story teller, keeping me interested in this story and I definitely recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Did not finish!. I received an free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This book has so many issues that I stopped reading it after getting tired of highlighting the mistakes. I was 54% of the way through the book but the story started jumping around and it was as if the author forgot what she was writing on the page before. Very disappointed in the quality of this book from an author that I've read before. Words were omitted, sentences didn't make sense, incorrect words were used (tale/tail), the characters were sitting in one paragraph but standing and sitting in the next. I'm not any fancy editor or anything but as a teacher, some of these editing issues should've kept the book from publication.

He tried keeping Cici at arms length even though there was a massive attraction between them when they met, and now when he's having second thoughts, he finds out she's pregnant with another man's baby! He's not sure this is something he can handle, and in all honesty, with the life he's lived, he's not sure he even wants to.
