Brant by Ken Bruen Book Summary
Nachdem Detective Sergeant Brant sich über alle Regeln hinweggesetzt und in einer Billardkneipe einen Randalierer bewusstlos geschlagen hat, wird eine junge Polizistin auf der Straße von einem Unbekannten erschossen. Der Sensationsreporter Harold Dunlop, der sich in seinen Artikeln besonders bei der Diffamierung von Brant hervorgetan hat, erhält von dem Polizistenmörder einen Anruf, bei dem der Mörder offenbart, er wolle insgesamt acht weitere Polizisten töten. Unmittelbar danach erschießt er einen Polizisten in dessen Dienstfahrzeug. Zusammen mit Detective Inspector Porter Nash wird ein Ermittlerteam gebildet, das den Cop-Killer so schnell wie möglich fassen soll. Was, wenn jedoch der Täter gefasst und wieder freigelassen wird? Sollte man den Mörder davonkommen lassen? Weil man sich ans Gesetz hält? Detective Sergeant Brant hat da seine eigenen Methoden. Unter dem Titel Blitz-Cop-Killer vs. Killer-Cop wurde der Roman mit Jason Statham 2011 verfilmt.
