Not much to like. The first book in this series was good enough. However, this one feels repetitive and I’ve grown tired and impatient with the characters. Aria has no backbone whatsoever and neither her or Carter are particularly likable. With these kinds of books, the characters aren’t always going to be like able but there needs to be something that makes readers identify with them, even if it’s in some minuscule way.

Amazing. Carter and Aria’s story continues in book 2. I’ve been anxiously awaiting this novel. Clear your calendar because this is very much a one sitting read. The story is written well, and is riveting in a twisty way. I’m looking forward to the next book.

AMAZING. Wow just wow. I was on my feet the whole time I started this book at 8 o’clock in the morning and here I am at 11 o’clock at night finishing this book it was AMAZING!

Great storyline but...... I very much enjoyed the first book in the series, however I felt as though the story line is repetitive and slow moving. This would have been a great book if it was all condensed into one longer read... I love the characters but I felt their relationship was to stagnant, which in turn made the story a bit painful to get through. I found this truly unfortunate as I love a good series and felt like this would have been great if condensed..

WoW. Wow this storyline that Awesome. I couldn’t put it down. The ending is another cliffhanger. I enjoy reading all her books. I can’t wait to see what will happen next in the series. You wouldn’t be disappointed in reading this author’s books. I voluntarily review an advanced copy of this book.

A Breathtakingly Beautiful Tale.... Willow Winters once again delivers a breathtakingly beautiful tale that will leave readers speechless and begging for more... Ever since devouring Merciless a few months ago I have been eagerly anticipating the release of Heartless, the second installment in this phenomenally captivating and one of a kind series. If you loved the first book, then you are going to absolutely inhale the second one. Just when I thought Carter and Aria's relationship couldn't get any more complicated, things take a turn and suddenly I have no freaking clue what to expect! These two have totally torn my heart into a million directions and I don't know whether I am turning right or left at the moment. They are both tragically broken souls, but together they complete each other. I just...I can't even begin to describe how much I absolutely adored these two wholeheartedly! Once again the author leaves readers with an epic cliffhanger that will have them demanding the next story immediately! I cannot freaking wait to see how Carter and Aria continue to develop in the next installment, Breathless, when it releases in September!

Heartless. Another exciting book by Willow Winters. Carter and Aria are still trying to deal with their relationship. Carter can be sweet and caring but there’s also another side to him. A ruthless and cruel side, when it comes to people who have done him wrong or are out to take what belongs to him. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, it’s emotional when it comes to Aria and her situation and what she’s feeling and going through.Carter tries to help her open up but she’s afraid, but Carter doesn’t express himself either. Things begin to get hairy towards the end and Aria has to make a choice, which side is she going to be on, Carter’s or her family’s. I enjoyed the book very much and look forward to reading the continuation of their story.

Anything but Heartless. Heartless-displaying a complete lack of feeling or consideration. In Heartless, Carter's true self is finally revealed and WOW was I blown away. Carter is feared, Carter is ruthless, Carter is respected, Carter is loved, all the while Carter pretends to be heartless. However, he is everything but heartless. Carter has become the man he has become because of his past and the life that was chosen for him. He is chasing an obsession of a girl that saved him the day he wanted his life to end. He thought he loved her, but it was HATE that drove him to take her, to make her need him and fall for him. Now he is finding that he no longer has the control and it is Aria that holds all the cards. How did this happen? How did an obsession turn into Carter needing her? Aria is in a very hard place. She is starting to care for Carter even though he is keeping her a prisoner and ready to kill everyone she has ever loved. She needs him, his touch, his gentleness, his roughness, HIM. When did this all happen? When did Aria start to fall in love with the man she fears the most but also finds herself wanting to save the most? With every turn Carter throws Aria a curveball. Once she thinks he sees her as nothing but his plaything, his confessions fill her with hope and want. Dreams that maybe he too feels more than the image of the heartless man he makes himself out to be. The more she gets to know him and the little talks she has with his brothers and Addison make her question his true intentions for her. Maybe just maybe he does love her. Willow Winters is masterful with her words, making every scene jump out and consume you. Every character is well thought out with so much depth. Their interactions among each other verbally and nonverbally helps pave the story and the effect they have on each other. Aria and Carter's relationship is thrilling, unpredictable, toxic, lonely, consuming, but it also has the pureness of two broken individuals who in their own way want to save the other. I have come to really, really love Carter and how much he LOVES Aria. So when I read the very last words to the end of this book I was left HEARTBROKEN because for the first time throughout this book I saw Carter as HEARTLESS.

MEMORABLE - STIRRING - PASSIONATE. Reading a story by this author is like a fine wine that you savor until the last word. HEARTLESS WILL STEAL YOUR BREATH with gripping suspense, flaming passion, shocking moments, intriguing innuendos, moments that pull at your heart, and powerful vivid scene descriptions. Carter and Aria sink into the darkness of their pasts alone; when together they find peace in each other's arms. You learn of the motivating force that guides Carter's actions and the memories that haunt Aria. The war between his family and the Talvery's is imminent. No one is blind to the danger that lies ahead; but who will Aria's loyalty fall to Carter or her family? SUPERB well-written read that held me hostage until the cliffhanger. I felt sincere compassion for Carter and Aria. I am delighted when an author creates a story with admirable characters. Aria and Carter's chemistry is potent; can't wait to learn how their story ends. Relished this story and {of my own volition without any stipulations, I reviewed an advanced copy.} Without reservations, I recommend this read.

Captivating and exciting!. Just when you think things with the Cross brothers can't get crazier, Willow delivers a twist so unbelievable, you'll need a week or month to recover. Carter is consuming and dangerously sexy. As you read you feel every bit of Aria's struggle with her feelings for Carter. Willow definitely went above and beyond with this one! My new favorite Willow Winters book.

Tugs at your heart. Willow does it again. This book is gut wrenching. At first I wanted to hate Carter but by the time I finished this book my opinion changed. I think there is so much turmoil inside him that he doesn't know any other emotion except broken. If broken is an emotion. I am anxious to see what happens when he finds out that Aria was not the one that saved him or is she? On a side note, I can't wait for Jace's story. I think he will be my favorite.

I need more!!. This continuation of Carter and Aria has left me wanting more. Their story was twisted! You will want to read book 1 first and then you will be dying for book 3, book two is a cliffhanger but so worth reading and with the wait for book 3! Carter and Aria are caught between a war between their families and in this book we learn secrets and more about Carter. Their sexy and twisted tale was really good.

Not Heartless!. I loved this book! I loved getting deeper into Aria & Carter’s relationship & their world! Can’t wait for the next book!

3 chapters.. I loved the first book, but this one was only 3 chapters. Basically should have been the last 2 chapters of the first book. Now I’m afraid to buy the other 2 since they’re $5 & I just paid $3 for this one.

Heartless is awesome!. OMG! This is the continuation of Carter and Aria. This is a continuing dance, so to speak. A beautiful dance filled with passion, sorrow and anger. The kind of dance between two people that makes you hold your breath because you can’t imagine which emotion will win out in the end. This book is a page turner, and I absolutely can’t wait for the next one. I highly recommend it!

Roller coaster of emotion. I’ll admit - once again - second book in for this couple and I’m at a loss for what to write in review. My mind and my spirit are crippled after reading this. One moment I feel sadness, the next it’s elation at their progress, then confusion and despair and just when a smile starts to creep back in....I’m devastated again. I cried and had to walk away for a few minutes, yet despite all those conflicting emotions I am completely and utterly captivated by who and what they are and what they will become. Wow.

Knowing I’ve made a choice and hating myself for it... This is the next book in an amazing series. Carter and Aria are on an emotional roller coaster that just keeps going and going. The adventure isn’t over yet either. Can’t wait for the next book! Super read!

Most intense book/series I’ve ever read. A MUST READ. This has to be one of the most intense books/series I have read to date. As Carter and Aria grow closer, the demons of their past, present, and future are evident in their internal conflicts. This is evident when Aria says “How can I hate you and love you at the same time?". Aria has a sassy attitude while struggling with her internal conflicts and the demons that haunt her. She’s both weak and strong at the same time. She is also resilient. Carter loves control. This control is tested when Aria clouds his thoughts. He needs Aria like a drug. She is his addiction that we won’t give up. Protecting her and his brothers is priority number one. The chemistry between Carter and Aria is alluring and undeniable. This book has me wanting more. Can not wait for the release of Breathless (Merciless Book 3). This is a MUST REA

Love. Absolutely loved it but do I really have to wait until September for the next one. I had this read in a day!!!

Amazing!. Willow Winters just keeps getting better and better!! Wow! Heartless was emotional and gritty with strong characters that feel almost real. The storyline will keep you turning the page. I didn't plan on reading this in its entirety before bed, but I was wrong. I couldn't go to sleep until I reached the end. I highly recommend it. You won't regret it!

On the edge of your seat. I couldn’t wait to read this book after reading the first one. Aria and Carters love story is like no other story I have read. The banter, the anger, sadness and love is felt in every word written. The family’s war really starts to take a turn and then the ending leaves you wanting more and waiting for the next book.
