A rare find!. I read this book in 24 hours. I never do this. The way she wrote this story…just wow. The way I loved a character in one moment and hated them on the next page. This book has depth. Each character has depth. I’m going in search of more books written by this author, but I’m very sad to leave this one behind. This story will stay with me for a good while.

Good Read. I really enjoyed this book. Love how the author gives us a chance to know the character’s from different perspectives. I have to say, the ending was not expected.

The Mother In Law. This book was deeply moving. Sally Hepworth’s narrative about all family dynamics, not to mention those between in-laws, was spot on. Looking forward to reading more from her.

Easy read. Story of family love, trials and tribulations. Not a complete surprise but kept me interested from beginning to end.

The Mother -in-Law. This was an excellent read. There weren't too many characters to keep track of, and each character was well developed, even if it was through someone else's eyes. The story evolved with a good pace and when I had to put it down, I thought about the characters and their personalities. It came to a sad but logical end, and I would recommend this to my reading friends.

Page Turner. Really enjoyed this book! Relatable family situations, suspense, and twists and turns. I found myself getting really involved with Lucy AND Diana. Great book 👍 Highly recommend, and especially to those with complicated in-laws - you will find many situations in the book you’ve probably been through or at least thought. 😉 Nevreader

Unusual book about a very complicated family with a twist.. I thought this book would be about a mother-in-law hating her daughter in law but it was so much more. The characters were so well developed you got to know them with all their quirks. This book is about complicated family dynamics and a bit of mystery thrown in. I enjoyed this read from beginning to end.

The Mother in Law. I really enjoyed reading this book, especially having the perspectives of both Lucy and Diana. Without knowing Diana’s trauma as a teenager, I would have disliked her even more than I did. I think she did well considering the cruel treatment by her own mother. Promising children an inheritance is always a mistake since no one knows what may happen in the future. She was kinder to strangers than to her own children. While her thinking is right that the best things in life are free, offering financial, moral, and emotional support to others just to help with bumps in the road could have made a huge difference. Did she and her husband really need the biggest house and beach house? Or the fanciest car? Instead of promising an inheritance, why not share her life story? Ask Nettie to adopt a child from the Orchard House or similar place if they still exist in 2020!

Read this book in one sitting COULDN’T put it down!!. Such a realistic and emotional portrayal of the dynamics within families. This book keeps you guessing until the end.

Pretty good. I find it hard getting hooked into books nowadays with so many distractions but this one came close.

Great read. I went through a lot of highs and lows with this book. Lots of emotions here.... laughter, tears, shock, and suspense up until the very end. I highly recommend it.
