Deceptively easy read. This is a fantastic summer read from a new author who really knows her stuff. If you're a parent, big reader or someone with even the most glancing connection to the book industry you'll get a lot of laughs from this. Well worth a read.

Wonderfully funny and original. What a great read. Couldn’t put it down, made me miss lots of sleep, but worth it. Very funny, clever and original.

Hmmm. It’s ok...drags a lot. I skipped over most but if you’re bored it’s doable.

Kind of frustrating. I liked the twist at the beginning of the book, this family is like no other I’ve read about before or even seen in person. Personally I thought there were too many attempts at climaxes. The potential love interests kept swapping and changing and it got rather annoying. The ending was also quite disappointing and I felt it was rushed.

Relatable read I couldn’t put down. So much to relate to in this novel #mumlife I truly couldn’t put it down!

Lesleym4800. I really enjoyed this book, I started off annoyed that she was such a doormat, then changed to thinking she was overly domineering and pushy. The husband is a weak manipulator, I don’t understand why she was so sorry he left. Even enjoyed the ending, worked out quite well without being “twee”. Good book for book club.

Wonderful rollercoaster. I just loved this story so much. I laughed so hard my teen daughter left her device AND her bedroom to come and see what the ruckus was about. Ahhhh WD40! Thank you for the absolutely delightful hours I’ve had with this wonderful book.

Great read. This book was great, like getting to know the slightly mad family down the road. Hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable.

How to be second best. I have a feeling that like the protagonist, this author has no clue how to be second best. This is demonstrated through an incredibly witty, reflective and addictive book that hits close to home and I wish had a sequel so I can continue to get to know these characters better. One of the best books I’ve read in years.
