Fall by Kristen Callihan Book Summary

The first time I met Jax Blackwood things went a little sideways.

In my defense, I didn’t know he was Jax Blackwood—who expects a legendary rock star to be shopping for groceries? More importantly, a blizzard was coming and he was about to grab the last carton of mint-chocolate chip.

Still, I might have walked away, but then he smugly dared me to try and take the coveted ice cream. So I kissed him. And distracted that mint-chip right out of his hands.

Okay, it was a dirty move, but desperate times and all that. Besides, I never expected he’d be my new neighbor.

An annoying neighbor who takes great pleasure in reminding me that I owe him ice cream but would happily accept more kisses as payment. An irresistible neighbor who keeps me up while playing guitar naked–spectacularly naked–in his living room.

Clearly, avoidance is key. Except nothing about Jax is easy to ignore—not the way he makes me laugh, or that his particular brand of darkness matches mine, or how one look from him melts me faster than butter under a hot sun.

Neither of us believes in love or forever. Yet we’re quickly becoming each other’s addiction. But we could be more. We could be everything.

All we have to do is trust enough to fall.

Fall. This book was amazing! I loved the snarky from each character as well as the way they dealt with their issues! What a beautiful story!

Love. I adored these two characters...it’s so hard in life to trust and be vulnerable with someone.

Pure joyful romance. I just love curling up on the couch with this series. Each book kept my heart rate up through every turn of that page. Humor, lovable characters, suspense, angst, incredibly exciting love-making... all of my favorite traits of well-written romance. Keep ‘em coming!! (No pun intended)

Fall. Beautifully written! I laughed, I cried, and I didn’t skip any pages. I was very impressed with the treatment of mental health issues.

I love the footnotes but…. I was looking forward to reading about Jax’s story, he seemed to be the glue that tied the series together. However I did not like this one as much as the others. Sadly, I was a bit disappointed with his story, but I still enjoyed the read.

Total enjoyment. This is a book I would read several times. I loved Stella and Kohn and how the author told a wonderful and real story True love and longevity in a relationship is about dealing with the bumps in the road

Shockingly GREAT!. What a great story! I have literally read hundreds of books this year and this is my very first by Kristen Callahan. So much heart and depth. So thoughtfully done with a touchy subject. I loved the long “foreplay“ before they ever became…well, what they became. (Don’t want to give away the story.) I also loved the random footnotes. I’ve never read another book that had the author’s thoughts along the way. I literally laughed and cried and loved the story of Stella and John. This may be my new favorite author!

Fabulous!. Beautifully written story! Depression and suicide are not easy topics to write about but Ms Callahan has done a wonderful job bringing these emotions to life. I can’t recommend this book enough! Read it. You won’t be disappointed ❤️

Perfection. Three words...... I Need More!

Fall. This is a a truly wonderful story! Read it along with Kristen Callihan’s other books. You’ll be so glad you did! ;)

Fall. This is the third book I have read by this author in the series VIP. Not my usual reading material due to the language and sexual depictions, probably due to my age, “old”. But somehow I became invested in the characters of this rock band and their lives. This particular book made me laugh then cry for these two characters , Stella and Jax. This author is quite the storyteller and now I am hooked and feel compelled to finish the series.

Loved this book so much. Kristen Callihan is the author of one of my favorite series VIP💙. Stella and Jax’s story was so good. Finally learning more about Jax, getting to know what is going on with the rest of Band: Killian, Whip, Rye plus Scottie. This book is funny and serious at the same time, let will make you fall in love with Jax and Stella. It was told so well, giving us an insight into a character’s struggle with depression. I can not say enough of how s story was without giving away a lot. You will fall in love with Stella she is awesome, strong young person and Jax is swoon worthy. Watch out Scottie and Killian, Jax is here to knock you off your pedestal.

AMAZING READ. I just loved this book! Reading the first two books I couldn’t conjure someone to fit for Jax but Stella is PERFECT! I also loved to see Jax overcome all of his trama. Won’t regret reading!

Pretty good read. This third installment of the VIP series I had some mixed opinions regarding brooding but sexy survivor, Jax Blackwood and fiesty but vulnerable Stella Grey. Their love story had mixture of ups & downs with mental illness like depression and panic attacks during their rocky and but endearing budding relationship throughout the book. It was an original ‘meet cute’ on how Stella unintentionally stole Jax’s heart by taking the last mint chocolate chip ice cream with an daring quick kiss😂😂😂!! More sexually tension between them after Stella discovered Jax is her neighbor when she was temporarily pet sitting for Killian and Libby. I admire the straight forward and sensitivity that Kristen put into Jax and Stella’s story especially with the aftermath of Jax’s failed suicide attempt two years back. I liked how Stella interacted with Jax and eventually fell for him despite of his faults and issues with depression and panic attacks. It’s very human and impressively told with no holding back on how Jax copes and just being unconditionally loved & cared by Stella despite of the obstacles in front of them not to be afraid to fall for each other.

Loved!. Honestly..I smiled, I laughed, I swooned, and I ALMOST cried. I highly recommend, Stella and John are wonderful together. The chemistry and the feels are maddening. Loved every minute of it.

Awesome. This book gave me everything I needed!!

Mental health. I feel really relate to the the depression of Jax,because sometimes I feel that too ,and somehow I failed to express my feelings not because The wall builds in my heart but also because I simply lack of the ability to express feelings .so turn to listening to rock and roll music, and my feelings can be expressed through them .music is a huge part of my life, and thanks Kristen for writing this incredible and beautiful series.

Fall. Fall by Kristen Callihan I really don’t think my review will do this book any justice so I’ll keep it brief. Fall is Jax/John’s story who is the lead singer of Kill John and if you’ve read the previous books, you’ll recall that he battles with depression and has also attempted suicide. He meets Stella at the grocery store and they fight for the last mint ice-cream only for Stella to get the better of him by stealing both a kiss and the ice-cream. They each have the other at the back of their minds until they come face to face and discover they’re now neighbors. This was a really beautiful and both heartbreaking and heartwarming story. I fell in love with both Stella and John and while I read much of their story with a smile, there was an equal amount of tears also at the ready. As a reader, I tend to avoid hype but still build up my own personal excitement over an upcoming release and it’s so sad when the book doesn’t live up to what you hope for and expect. I’m not sure how Callihan does it, but the VIP series is such a huge hit for me, with each book exceeding the expectations set by its predecessor. Knowing that the author has put so much of herself and her own experiences in the book give it a different spin and the final product of Fall was perfection. The characters and their story were so raw and honest that my heart broke and healed right along theirs. It was a perfect execution and I take my hat off to the author. *I voluntarily read an early copy of this book. **Reviewed by Melinda for Joandisalovebooks Blog.

Brilliant - minus the citations. I love this author but I hated the citations with notes/thoughts/decisions. If this was a q&a that would be valid, but in the middle of the story (or at the start, because this frustrated me from page 62)? It wasn’t necessary and should’ve been saved for a newsletter or something. I did not like it at all. I did not think we needed the info, given we could join the dots as readers. Having said that, I loved this book. I love the writing, the character differentiation, the profanity at times, the build up, the release, the subtle gender balancing (I find this hard to describe, it has masculine characters that aren’t overbearing or underhanded and the female was so strong and capable and didn’t need saving - a modern dream). It was so well written, with slight editing errors (a personal gripe) yet it was still brilliant.

Wonderful series. Love love love the series! l couldn’t put this book down......am waiting for the next book...pleeease!!! Read all three books in 5 days

Wow. Kill was my favourite. Then Scottie was my favourite.. and now? Now I’m all about John and Stella. Amazing, thank you for sharing their story. I loved it.

Beautiful. This book is poignant, funny, charming and sexy. John/Jax and Stella’s story is one that I’ll read again 💖

Fantastic and heartwarming. I wasn’t prepared for the huge feels from this book! So well written, so thoughtful in its approach to mental health and such a beautiful story. The only thing I really couldn’t warn to was all the footnotes by the author. I ended up skipping them as it took me out of the world she had so cleverly put me in.

Great read. I am sad that this book ended, I wanted to keep reading about Stella and John. Can't wait for the next book in series❤️

love this book. this was such a good read love john and Stella and there happy ending...

Very satisfying!. Callahan takes on the difficult topic of depression with a deft and sensitive hand, while maintaining romance and humour in Jax and Stella’s story. The chemistry is as hot as ever, and descriptions of Manhattan, and surrounds, and references to various art and music are highly entertaining and add to the vibrancy of the story. Recommended!
