Fun. I enjoyed this book but I was just a bit confused in the end But I enjoyed hetty and also reese.

Entrancing. This is an incredibly unique book. I hate that word but it's true. It's not like any other book I've read. Some may say it's dry, but I think it encapsulates the main character's emotions and feelings perfectly. As for the ending, it wasn't really conclusive about anything, but I think it fits and it's part of the charm. I read this book in 2 days because I really couldn't put it down. The subtle hints of romance but not making it the main point was appreciated as well. It was done in a way that didn't feel forced or underdone at all. I would definitely recommend this book.

Solid read but incredibly difficult to get through. I liked the atmosphere and setting BUT the writing can be dry at times. It pulls you in but you'll easily lose interest... Why? I didn't feel for any of these characters. I didn't feel anything else at all except boredom. Also, this is more like "Annihilation" than "Lord of the Flies" and if that's your thing, then this is probably the book for you.

No ending!!!. Literally just ends, you find out nothing. All this mystery and then nothing.

Disappointed. I love feminist horror, but this was just boring.

Hard to put down. Right away I was in love. I loved the atmosphere and characters, its like nothing I’ve read before. I feel like some people are being too harsh, as I personally didn’t find it boring or hard to get through, though I guess that just goes down to preference. I read this book in just one sitting, I had trouble putting it down! The only things that disappointed me were Hetty’s and Reese’ relationship and the ending. I just felt like their relationship started so fast and finished even faster? And overall I just wish it would have been more present throughout the book. And like a lot of people have said, the ending left much to be desired. I was surprised when I turned the page to just see the acknowledgements, as I was expecting at least 30 more pages. Other than that I loved this book!
