The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer Book Summary

Imagine a young boy who has never had a loving home. His only possesions are the old, torn clothes he carries in a paper bag. The only world he knows is one of isolation and fear. Although others had rescued this boy from his abusive alcoholic mother, his real hurt is just begining -- he has no place to call home.

This is Dave Pelzer's long-awaited sequel to A Child Called "It". In The Lost Boy, he answers questions and reveals new adventures through the compelling story of his life as an adolescent. Now considered an F-Child (Foster Child), Dave is moved in and out of five different homes. He suffers shame and experiences resentment from those who feel that all foster kids are trouble and unworthy of being loved just because they are not part of a "real" family.

Tears, laughter, devastation and hope create the journey of this little lost boy who searches desperately for just one thing -- the love of a family.

Amazing!. This book is amazing, and shows what foster care really is for some kids. Not all kids have it very easy in the foster care system, and this book really shows the hardships for David as he makes his way through the world as a foster child. This book also shows how not all kids have nice loving parents who care about them. It shows how some families might be a little dysfunctional, and don’t work out like a perfect family. This book shows how some people can overcome that and still somehow find the good in all the bad in their lives. David is a boy that has really gone though a lot in his life, but it doesn’t ruin him, but makes him fight harder for what he wants... a real family.

👎🏽. Couldn’t read past the first chapter when I bought the book

Dave Pelzer. Dave turned out to be a great man and father ❤️

Such an inspiring story!. Such an inspiring story!

Great Read. I read his book when I was young, and never knew there were two other books. This book was hard to put down, the things David goes through is very intriguing, although I would want to known why his mother manipulated him the most. It was also sad how he never got adopted after all his years of foster care.
