Dragon Actually. This download consists of two books: Dragon Actually and Chains & Flames Dragon Actually is a mostly okay read if you’re into light BDSM starring Annwyl and Fearghus. Can be read as a standalone. There’s good humor and fun family dynamics among the dragons, but this book felt like typical contemporary smut in a cheap fantasy costume. The would-be flirty fighting in training just felt like sexual harassment, which for some reason Annwyl, an experienced warrior, decides to do in her skivvies while he’s in chainmail and they’re both using real weapons. She also later wears a chain shirt with no protective under layer, which would not be a fun time. Annwyl and Lorcan’s conflict could’ve been scaled down. There’s supposed to be a war going on but any sort of stakes or urgency that entails is undermined or overwhelmed by Annwyl and Fearghus’ romps and his numerous comic relief siblings, creating tone issues. Annwyl loses interest as her relationship with Fearghus loops and she eventually reveals herself to be your standard bratty, snarky protagonist, while the Morfyd and Brastias bits should be their own book. Because most of Annwyl’s later achievements were offscreen, Rhiannon felt too easily won over for the reputation she’d been given. Chains & Flames is very similar to Dragon Actually, just heavier on the BDSM, starring Rhiannon and Bercelak, Fearghus’ parents. Reads like average fan fiction. Lot of rehashing and over-explanations. Can also be read as a standalone.

Good book. I laughed so much. Great storytelling. I love these dragons and always down to read about their shenanigans.
