The Assassin's Blade (Sarah J. Maas) Book Reviews
The Assassin’s BladeThis book was definitely worth the read and can be read as a stand alone. Though I predicted the would-be twists, I still found myself wanting to watch the events play out, and enjoyed doing so. The stories are well balanced and beautifully written. If I had to nitpick it would be that Celaena conveniently forgot the Mute Master telling her she’d always have a home in the desert, the insert-really-big-number moments feel like cop-outs for making fiscal decisions about this world, and the idea of Celaena being cornered because of her financial situation is undermined by the fact that she hasn’t exhausted all of her options, i.e. cutting costs, squeezing money out of her possessions, seeking other work etc especially when she considers it but chooses to do nothing, which is important since it drives the plot..PalatableDinnerScore: 4/5
