Always a Bridesmaid by Cindi Madsen Book Summary

Violet Abrams may have been a bridesmaid no less than seven times, but her wedding day was near—she could feel it. Until her longtime boyfriend left her for someone else. That’s just fine—she has her photography and a new project redesigning her sister’s bakery to keep her happy and fulfilled. Fast-forward to the day of his wedding, though, when Violet might have accidentally, totally not on purpose, started a fire. And... Officially the worst day ever.

Firefighter Ford Maguire thought he’d seen it all. Until he’s called out because someone tried to set the local bakery on fire…with a wedding magazine? The little arsonist might be the cutest woman he’s ever seen, but he’s too career-focused to consider something serious. Still, Violet seems like a great person to help him navigate his upcoming “man of honor” duties in his best friend’s wedding.

Pretty soon, not only is Violet giving him lessons on all things weddings, she’s helping him train his latest rescue-dog recruit puppies and weaving her way seamlessly into his lone-wolf lifestyle. But forever is the last thing on Ford’s mind, and if there’s one thing a perpetual bridesmaid knows, it’s the importance of a happily ever after.

Well-written and humorous. Violet, a wedding photographer, returns home to help her half sister with a remodel in AL when her boyfriend of TEN years cheats on her at that sister’s wedding. 😳 Ford, a firefighter/search & rescue worker, has relationship issues as he’s grown up with unstable parents/siblings. While well-written and quite humorous, I personally had two big issues with this story. First, these characters act too immature for their ages (upper 20s)...I also felt this way with the first book in this series. Second, even though I had gotten to know some of these secondary characters from the previous book, I felt less connected to them here. I simply wasn’t that invested in them as people. While the majority of readers may enjoy this as a cute, funny rom-com, I found myself not feeling all that engaged. Thanks so much to #NetGalley and #EntangledPublishing for providing me the ARC. The opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Loved it!. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I read the previous book in this series and really enjoyed it, so I took a chance and requested this one from NetGalley. I’m very thankful that I was given the chance to read and review Ford and Violet’s story. Violet has commitment and trust issues and decides to get away for awhile to get herself together and of course she runs into Ford everywhere she goes in town. This can be read as a stand alone, but you really are missing out if you don’t read the other books too.

Fun read. I love a good wedding story, especially when it features engaging characters, an interesting plot and awesome banter. Always A Bridesmaid had all of that and more, thanks to great writing by Ms.Madsen. This book was an easy read that made me laugh but also frustrated me a bit. Ford was a wonderful match for Violet. He was encouraging and patient with her often lack of focus, due to her ADHD. Yes, he had an almost allergic reaction to the word forever, while she had a sparkly wedding binder that she’s been adding to for 10 years. They seem like opposites but they have more in common deep down than they realize. Each character had flaws that the reader is asked to overlook. While one character grew more than the other, in my opinion, I didn’t like the words that character used against the other. Not trying to be vague on purpose, but I’m trying not to give anything away, either. Regardless, I enjoyed this book very much and definitely recommend it.

Amazing!!. The beginning of Violet's story broke my heart. The strength she has to get through all the disappointments and hurts were so admirable. Ford and Violet bring so much baggage to the party but the way they grounded each other while lifting each other up was amazing. But all that baggage brings some angst with it. These two definitely made me shed a tear or two but I also got to laugh a lot. I loved checking in with this crazy, fun group of friends and now I'm counting down for when I get to have Easton's story!!!

Fun and charming read!. Always a Bridesmaid by Cindi Madsen is a sweet and charming small town romance with very likeable characters and story. Violet is reeling after a bad breakup and is looking start fresh; but is also carrying a lot of baggage. Ford is a sexy and charming firefighter who wants nothing to do with commitment. Enter Violet. I loved watching them meet, fall and get to know each other. Such a delightful read with all the best feels. Happy reading!

Delightful small town romance. I really loved this book! Ford is the perfect book boyfriend. He is hot, a paramedic, trains search and rescue puppies and is the dude of honor at his best friend Addie’s wedding. Seriously, could he be more perfect? He meets Violet when she accidentally sets her sister’s bakery oven on fire. Violet is a photographer who lost her muse when she caught her boyfriend of ten years cheating on her. She is licking her wounds and decorating her half-sister’s Bakery and trying to figure out what her next steps are. While she has sworn off men, it’s hard to say no to the hottie fireman. This is a delightful small town romance with a lot of humor and heart. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Welcome to Uncertainty, Alabama. Welcome to Uncertainty, Alabama. Where Ford, the firefighter is hot and comes equipped with an axe and a dog named Pyro, Where Violet has had an epic bad day, has sworn off men after catching her BF cheating and set a fire. This story focuses on Ford and Violet but includes their family and friends in supporting roles. Violet has been a bridesmaid seven times and she's over it. She's wedding obsessed (Pinterest all planned out). I enjoyed the OTH references and really liked Ford. Recommend. 4

Entertaining. Cindi Madsen is a relatively new author to me and I have no idea why that is. I loved this book. From the first to the last chapter one I was fully invested in the story that Ms.Madsen wove. Having read the first book in the series, I jumped at the chance to read this book. It was just as entertaining, if not more so, than the first book in the series. Violet Abrams, always the bridesmaid, never the bride, especially since her boyfriend dumped her. Now he’s getting married and what does she do? She decides to burn wedding dress photos and then has to explain to the hot fire fighter Ford Maguire what happened. I loved Ford in Just One Of The Groomsmen and couldn’t wait to read his story. Although this can most definitely be read as a stand alone, why not one click the first book in the series as well. The writing was strong and the story flowed well. It was humorous, with characters you cannot help but fall in love with. One click this little gem, you won’t be disappointed. I received a copy of this book through the publisher via NetGalley.

Fun romance. Having really enjoyed book 1 in this series I was excited to read Always a Bridesmaid and let me tell you this book was everything I expected and more.... Violet Adams is always the bridesmaid, never the bride and now her ex is getting married she is struggling to come to terms with her life, this was meant to be her day so what do you do, well I guess starting a fire by burning wedding dress pictures isn’t right unless it gets firefighter Ford Maguire’s attention..... I love the characters, the story and I loved catching up with Ford again, we meet him in Just One Of The Groomsman and his story is a great addition. This is an entertaining, fun romance that I highly recommend. It certainly ticked all my boxes and left me smiling like a Cheshire Cat.
