After being away, unwillingly, for five years Royden MacKinnon returns home a far different man.

Royden doesn't know what he'll find. He knows his brother Arran is still alive, but what about his father, his sister, Raven, and most of all what about the woman he loves… Oria.

The attack that had ripped his family apart, seen his land confiscated, and the woman he has loved since he's been young lost to him, came on the day he and Oria were to wed. He and Arran had been forced to serve a mercenary group until recently when he was released and his clan and land returned to him. But why now? And what price was the cost of his freedom?

Oria is shocked to see the man she loves from as long as she can remember standing in front of her. She had hoped and prayed for this day and it was finally here. But many things had happened in Royden's absence, things he needed to know and things she couldn't share with him, since honor bound her to promises she'd made.

Unfortunately, time and events change people, sometimes for the better, sometimes not so much. Royden and Oria aren't who they once were. Will their love transcend all else and survive? And will the evil that once torn them apart threaten them once again?

Author note… there is a Prequel, Highland Oath, to this book. It introduces all the characters, and details what led to the Clan MacKinnon being separated. You don't have to read it to read this one, but you might find it interesting.
