A great start to romantic suspense series. I loved the beautiful and at times nail biting story of Xander and Tara. I got all the feels reading this one. Tara is an ADA. Xander is a police recruit. Xander and Tara have history. She almost prosecuted Xander two years ago but he ended up not being the bad guy. The story starts with a case where Xander and Tara need to work together with the Intelligence Unit. This puts the two of them in close proximity and starts the journey to their HEA. It was fun to watch the relationship between these two unfold while they are dodging murderous psychopaths and trying to keep a witness safe. This book has a little bit of everything, just like you would expect from a romantic suspense story - sweet moments, strong friendships, fan your face sexy times, real life issues, painful pasts, redemption, imperfect characters, dangerous high stress situations, and so much love. I am excited to read more of this series.

Captivating Novella!!. This is a great beginning to a new series. Xander is a little flawed but has a big heart. Tara is a strong, independent, kind of a loner until she runs into Xander for a second time at the scene of a crime. These two together are perfect for each other. It’s good in the suspense category and the ending was a heart-stopper. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait for more.

The Rookie. Tara and Xander’s story is a sweet one, each staying ahead of Sansone enough to get him to trial before Amour (their secret witness) gets hurt by one of Sansone’s goons. Sweet HEA in the end.

The Rookie. Great book! Love how this author manages the right blend of friends and romance with a touch of suspense and danger, then wrapping it all up with a HEA. This story doesn’t disappoint and I highly recommend it and all her other books.👍👍❤️📖❤️

The Rookie. Xander is a rookie with the Remington Police Department where he loves his job and is proud of how he has turned everything around. Tara Kingston is an Assistant District Attorney who is trying to close a criminal case that has been going on for years. With a confidential informant, she is close to closing the case. Until she is injured and the police are called and Xander arrives on the scene. Two years prior she attempted to arrest him and now he is the one who is going to try and keep her safe. I am happy we have another book from Kimberly Kincaid. Xander is such a sweet and fiercely protective hero and Tara is a very determined and smart heroine. Xander and Tara had great banter and were hot and perfect for each other. The rubber duckie story needs to be read by all! This book is connected to the Station Seventeen series and Remington Medical series through cameos from characters from those books but can be read as a standalone. The Rookie is an opposites attract romantic suspense and the first book in the Intelligence Unit series from Kimberly Kincaid.
