Messy and Beautiful. Romance. Merpeople. Secrets. Yes, please! This is the paranormal romance I have been waiting for. The story follows Ella and Dax as they navigate a forbidden relationship that crosses over land and sea. This book was heartfelt, real, messy and beautiful. I loved the fresh plot line and the wholesome characters. This book is just all around great. Well done! Well done! I gave this 5 stars because I would easily read it again and recommend it to a friend!

Enjoying read. I will say I am not typically a mermaid fan, it’s just never been my thing. That being said this book was great. I love this author and how she brings her stories to life so I decided to give this book a try as well and I was not disappointed. The characters come to life and it’s a refreshing read.

Breathing Water. I just loved this story...it was so different l did not expect the storyline but it was very romantic and both the main characters were well written...it shows how two people so different finds real love and happiness

Wonderfully written book!. I am a fan of Ms. Bird’s other books having loved them all. This one is a different genre. It is a fantasy romance. I usually am not interested. This book has changed my mind! The relationship between the main characters, Dax and Ella, is complicated. The story moves along with humor, fear, sadness and triumphs. It actually had my palms sweating in some parts, and tears rolling down my face in others. The true test of anything I read is, do I want the story to end? The answer is NO. I found myself checking to see how many pages were left. I highly recommend giving this book a try!

Amazing!. Ok. I finished at 2 am. I couldn’t put it down. The beginning of the book was literally laugh out loud funny. (My husband couldn’t understand how a book could make me laugh so hard. I explained. He chuckled too) I feel like the battling of dark moods of 2020 has infiltrated this book. It’s is almost gut wrenching if you get attached to the characters the way I do. ( Tanya Bird you make that easy to do) I feel like the most simplistic description to give the book is beautifully broken. Great job writing a funny, passionate, gut wrenching, love. It’s beautiful. It’s ugly. It’s what it means to be imperfect and be in love. Great job!

Fantastic!. Masterfully written, breathtakingly beautiful, an incredible book. This book is hypnotic. You will not be able to put it down. This is a new genre for Mrs. Bird and she did a brilliant job. I think this maybe her best book to date. If you’re looking for a wonderful romance, expertly written, this is your book. Congratulations Mrs. Bird on a fabulous novel.

Soulmates Extraordinaire. Dax and Ella are soulmates but they don't know it! Ella loves her dancing but has to give it up due to injuries. Dax works in construction although his heart is in saving marine life! When Dax and Ella bump into each other (literally) they aren't to know that they are meant to be. The attraction is immediate and strong for both of them with an unbelievable pull that only soulmates experience. Against all odds Ella and Dax are stronger and better together. This is a beautiful sometimes funny story of Ella & Dax who you will all fall in love with like I did! Intervowen with a child's inappropriate quips and family bonds this books touches the heartstrings and doesn't let go. You want to stay in their world even after finishing the book! Loved every second of it!

Incredible from start to end. I LOVED this book! This only thing I didn’t love was that it ended and I instantly wanted to start reading it again. The characters are all so lovable and real - and reading a story set in my own backyard was such a thrill!

Beautiful and enthralling. Dax and Ella capture your heart and draw you into their beautiful world. This is a story that pulls you in from the beginning and will hold you captive until the last page. The character and world development is brilliant and so unique—you haven’t read a paranormal like this before. I can’t recommend Breathing Water highly enough. I wish I could give it ten stars!

Addictive. Addictive book! Once you start you just want to find out what happens with Ella and Dax! Great start to another paranormal series! I recommend this book for all those who love Tanya’s books or if you just love a good romance novel

Oh my!. If this book was a child I would want to cuddle it up and hold it close. From the start I was entangled in DAX and Ella’s story and could not put the book down and then not wanting to read to much making it end quicker . Their story is beautiful , woven with heart wrenching and laugh out loud moments . Whilst Dax and Ella fell in love I fell in love with them too . A beautiful book So beautiful !
